BOSS Audio Systems PV3700 5 Channel Car Stereo Amplifier – 3700 High Output, 5 Channel, 2/4 Ohm Stable, Low/High Level Inputs, High/Low Pass Crossover, Full Range, Bridgeable, for Subwoofer

I bought the 3700 Boss 5 channel amp with a goal of a well balanced sound for all types of music. Not only did I hit this goal, but it's louder the I ever imagined. I have my Boss Amp hooked to two 6.5" 3 way 300 watt boss door speakers With tweeters in the front, two 6.5 two way speakers and tweeters in the back, and one 1100 watt 12" Pioneer Comp Sub in the cargo area in a 2004 Tahoe. I added a Capicitor mainly because I got it as a bonus. FYI, Before I had the capacitor installed I didn't have any issues with power. I am using 8 gauge power and ground wires, and 6 channel Stinger RCA cables. I did run into some engine noise at first, but then I found out you need to run RCA opposite side of power wire. Rookie mistake on my part. Once I changed my mistake by re running my RCA cable away from my power Line, all my interference noise stopped. when I read some of the bad reviews, I felt the problems people were having was due to improper installation. So far one month after my installation my intuition was correct, because I have yet to have any issues that wasn't corrected from me being a rookie. Matching your gains on all amplithfilers is very important for audio quality and Ampliphier performance. This is the main problem for all Ampliphiers not performing correctly and not lasting. There are Lots of helpful hints if you search How to tune your AMP on the internet. I'm guessing this could be some of the problems the lower reviewers guys could be having. This AMP gets plenty loud, and provides lots of power. When I run music at normal levels My AMP stays cool and runs fine. When you run it hard it does get warm but not to hot to touch and sound great. I installed this under my passenger seat in my 2004 Chevy Tahoe and it fits perfect. People with smaller cars pay attention to dimensions because this AMP is a monster. My friends were easily impressed by the sound and the cool look the way it lights up especially at night. I went expensive on an Apple Car play receiver and Boss really helped me out by giving me an affordable option to continue to add to my expensive receiver at a very affordable price. It's a no brainer if you're in the market for a dive loud system, just make sure it's installed correctly before writing a review. I made lots of mistakes but after researching my problems I got it performing like a Boss! The Phantom 3700 gives you plenty of options to achieve your goals and a great option for people with limited resources. Keep in mind when you're costing Ampliphiers out, the hardware such as wires cables conectors ect: can get very costly ontop of your equipment. I spent almost as much on hardware as I did on the Amp. Boss makes this less painful by giving you such a good deal from the start. I decided to spend less money on the Amp and more money on the correct wires and cables. Try it out, install it right and you'll Love it!

Great amplifier. I’ve used boss in car audio a lot of times before which is kind of crazy because I have the money to buy more expensive ones and I’ve been an audio engineer for over 25 years and had my own music studio at my house, but I always go with boss for the car audio because I believe in getting great sound for less money and they always deliver. The only thing is and it may be different with a different system and set up but with my set up, I noticed you cannot go over 75% of the gain or you start getting to distortion and that’s me using a O oscilloscope so that would be my only warning you’re not gonna crank them all the way or you’re gonna get some distortion that you may not hear but if you use an oscilloscope you will see it. But no complaints and delivers just like always and my system sounds amazing. I bought three of these different sizes for different speakers and I will put the same review on all of them. Highly recommend them just like I have for years! I have this running my 46.5 DS 18 Pro X speakers and a band pass box with two 10 inch subwoofers and it’s handling everything and putting out a great sound.

This is a great amp for the price...It sates that the max power is 3700W but really it's not nearly that. That's BOSS for you though, but It's at about 1920W Peak Max Power at 2 Ohms and it's around 960W total RMS at 2 Ohms. This is true because of Ohm's Law. I saw that it has only two 40A fuses which gave it a max current handling rating of 80A. If you use an Ohm's Law calculator for the total power output @ 80A with 12V you get 960W RMS at 2 ohms. And 480W total RMS at 4 ohms. This is why it's only $125.99. But don't count it out, it still will deliver PLENTY of power for your set up even at 4 ohms. Only thing I would recommend is run your subwoofer(s) at 2 ohms if you can because I have two 8" subs at 4 ohms and it only gets really loud (enough to blow the subs, @300W RMS total together) if you crank up the input and bass boost to max. At 2 ohms I barely had to turn the bass knob and it was about to blow one of my 8's even with the input and bass boost turned all the way down. So you can definitely run two 12's or two15's subs easily if you wire them @ 2 ohms. I use this amp to power my home computer audio and I have this hooked up to an AZZA 1000W 80 Plus Bronze Computer Power Supply which has a max 12V current of about 70A for me to power this amp. I have 12 speakers total hooked up to Channels 1-4. Ch 1-2 @4 Ohms and Ch 3-4 @ 6 Ohms. I have two 8" subs hooked up at 4ohms on subwoofer Channel 5. You can even hook up left and right subs on the channels 1-4 if you use some crossover inductors and capacitors that is described in the Manual. This amp gets ridiculously loud and sounds very clean compared to my old PylePro PTA2 amps. Very loud fast on the channels 1-4 if you run your speakers on them at 2 ohms. I first had my speakers wired at about 2 ohms and I only had to turn up my PC volume level to about 15-20 out of 100 and it was already putting out about 80+ decibels without the subs hooked up. So I had to rewire my speakers with higher ohms so it wouldn't get as loud so fast. If your wire your speakers at 8ohm instead of 2 it also reduces the amount of hum, buzz and hiss sounds coming out of the speakers when no sound is playing. The higher your ohms the less distortion you hear of that, but I wouldn't go past 8 ohms. All in all I am very happy with this Amp. It has nice aesthetics with the red LED glow and feels like it is well made. Only complaint is I wish BOSS would rate their products at true rated power levels. That is why when you buy Kicker or Rockford Fosgate or other high quality brands they always use their Amp's or Subs total RMS rating as what they advertise it at. So I took off one star off for that. Otherwise I am happy with this Amp it took my entertainment centers audio quality to a much higher level and I am very pleased.

Stock amp in my 2010 Mazda 3 blew, I needed a multi-channel amplifier to replace it. This just took a weekend to install and works great with stock head unit and stock speakers! So much more power than what I need, but it was 1/2 the price what a replacement crappy OEM amplifer would cost! Make sure to invest in a good pair of wire strippers before installing this, because it's a LOT of wires to hook up. I'm using the high power inputs from a head unit, works great. Lights look cool too but I don't really care. Not beating any audiophile studio grade quality here, but it makes the speakers make noise that doesn't sound like trash.

I used this amp to replace the entire Bose audio system in my 2014 Buick Lacrosse. It powers 4x JBL GTO609 speakers and 2 JL Audio 10' w3s with ease. I may add 2x more JBLs to the rear deck and wire them in parallel with the back doors. (it can do it with ease) Overall this amp is great for a budget build that wont break the bank. Cons: The post hole of the ground wire stripped easily, so be careful when tightening them down. Also this thing gets hot whether it is playing 1 speaker or 5. I highly suggest running a pc fan off the remote wire and keep it ventilated. The red LEDs can be off-putting if you dont stuff it in the trunk. (out of sight out of mind)

PV3700: I bought this to replace factory system in a 2000 Cadillac DeVille. Now I didn't need massive bass. That was not what I was looking for. This amp is a 5 channel amp. This allows for all 4 door speakers and a sub in the rear deck. Tuned amp for door speakers. I tune via multimeter and set channel 1-4 based on speaker RMS wattage at 3/4 head unit volume. Checked my math and channels 1-4 achieved correct RMS rating. 5 star to this point. Now comes the subwoofer/channel 5. I always tune with bass boost OFF. Tuned for 150 watts and blew an old subwoofer up. Not the amps fault as I didn't remember why this sub was laying around. Bought a new sub that has 250 watt RMS rating. 500 watt Peak. Tuned for 250 watts and worked great. Did a test tune to achieve 500 watt and the amp will not go high enough to get to 500 watt on sub. Tuning test was done with bass boost MAXed out. Channel 5 maxed out at 361 watts. 4 star now. Even though it is not that big of an issue for my goals it is false advertisement as BOSS states 563 watts RMS on 5th channel @4 ohm. When you calculate the amps fuses * voltage, 80*14.4=1,152 watts assuming 100% efficiency. A/B amps top out at 65% efficiency so that makes it 748.8 watts MAX output. That is FAR FAR FAR below the 3700 watts advertised. 3 star. All test tuning was done WITHOUT speakers hooked up as that can be very loud. All Speakers used are 4 ohm speakers. Math is WATTS*OHMS=# SQUARE ROOT OF #= VOLTAGE AC to set amp output. However for my application this amp does the job that I ask it to. If you are replacing a factory amplified system and not really adding much this amp is perfect for that application. You are not going to win competitions. You are not going to have the best sound system in town. But you will have a all-around nice system. Pros: Replacing factory system on budget. Channels 1-4 are as advertised. Sound is very clear on channels 1-4. Cons: Amp is lacking advertised power. Channel 5 RMS maxes out at 64% of advertised power. Total MAX power output is 54% of RMS rated output.

Very good amplifier. Looks great especially when on at night. I’m not using the bass control on this amplifier. My audio system sounds great. Good value.

I like this amp cause it powers all my inside speakers and my subwoofer. It gets warm a bit. It's a loud amp and pushes my 12 inch subwoofer really good. I have a honda civic hatchback so fills the sound of my car really good. I don't turn up the volume to no more then 15 on the volume. And its makes my glass and mirrors dance to the music. I have no dislikes about this amp. It is a big amp if that is a negative. But I have the room for it as you can see in the pics. For the price of the amp which was $152. The BOSS amp rocks for me. I did have this professional installed. So it's a winner for me. I would buy again.

Awesome packaging and arrived super fast which is appreciated. After unboxing it and installing it I still have no problems with it, lots of settings to change which is what I needed and it has clear sound and works amazing. Only complaint which is probably my fault for not looking at the discretion is how big this thing is, just need to find room to put this somewhere is all.

Buena relación calidad - precio, pues lo adquirí en promoción. Éste amplificador aunque sea para 5 canales, lo usé en modo de 4 canales, (pues tengo un amplificador kenwood aparte dedicado para el subwoofer que está en la puerta de la cajuela de mi RAV4, que tuve que recalibrar para que este en armonía con el volumen general). Es lo suficientemente potente para mover el par de set de medios delantero Kicker de tweeter y woofer css654 (puertas delanteras), así como 2 bocinas traseras DSC 654 (puertas traseras). Las bocinas y el set de medios son todas a 4 ohms. Es algo voluminoso, por lo que no cupo debajo de los asientos, así que lo instalé de manera lateral atornillado en la pared de la cajuela, y es mejor porque quedó bien ventilado. Hay que tener en cuenta que se debe tener un buen fusible de 150 amperios y cable grueso de cobre del número 4 al menos para la alimentación, y terminales de cobre de buena calidad. Usé entradas de alta (No RCA), ya que mi estéreo solo tiene 2 pares de salidas RCA (un par para el subwoofer y otro par para bocinas delanteras solamente) en vez de las 3 que requeria (delanteras, traseras y subwoofer), lo cual me resultó práctico (aun así implica usar más cable pues son 8 pares de cables , 4 pares de la salida del estereo y 4 pares hacia cada bocina), aunque solo lleva un ligero ruido de fondo a volúmenes elevados (contemplen que si su estereo es de 62 niveles de volumen, calibrenlo para que la amplificación sea máxima a los 30. El nivel de amplificación úsenlo solamente hasta 3/4 o poco más del máximo para no generar sobre calentamiento. La sensibilidad ponganla al máximo pero con cuidado. Hay que saber calibrar las salidas para no amplificarlo demasiado y que suene sin distorsión. Recomiendo insonorizar con dynamat las puertas en caso de que sus bocinas estén localizadas en dicha zona. Ah y muy importante. Al utilizar las entradas de alta con los plugs que vienen con el amplificador, es mejor dejar sin conectar la tierra física de dichos plug, pues genera demasiada interferencia. Si pueden aplicar cinta de cobre y posteriormente una capa de aislante sobre los cables que van y vienen de las bocinas y/o al estéreo, es mejor y evitan interferencia electromagnética del ruido del motor. Excelente amplificador para 4 canales (siendo de 5) si se sabe calibrar. No es para competencias pero brinda un sonido envidiable y potente. Apenas llevo una semana con él así que no sé cuánto dure, pero hasta el momento sin problemas.

lo instale en una camioneta en 5 canales, 4 medios de 6x8" y un subwoofer de 10", suena bien. le coloque un cable de cobre calibre 4, pero con un calibre 8 a lo mejor hubiera sido suficiente
