I am not sure about 6/3-8/1 condiguration. Why different gauges? And can I see the cable cut?

The one wire that is smaller is the ground, that is permitted by the National Electric Code.No, you can't see the wire cut. it comes preassembled.This is a very good cable, and you can't assemble it cheaper yourself.

Is this the same as 6/4 cable?

This cable has three 6 gauge conductors for the two hot legs and the neutral. The ground conductor is 8 gauge. An 8 gauge ground wire is adequate (and to code) in most situations. It is quite common for portable cables such as this to have a ground wire one size smaller. I own several 6/3 and 8/1 cables that see a lot of heavy service. Never had a problem BUT there are always situations where, for a variety of reasons, you may need to have 6/4 cable.

Do you know the specific part numbers for the connectors? i need cs6365c and cs6364c.
