Have you ever tried both Alkalol - A Natural Soothing Nasal Wash and Xlear Nasal Spray and can tell which one is more effective or better?

I've used it since the late 1970's, when a doctor from India who was doing a U.S. residency at our small town hospital saw me in the ER for a horrific fever. Turns out I had strep. He had me gargle with a 1:1:1 mixture of Alkolol, Hydrogen Peroxide, and distilled water. It was fizzy, and gross. He told me NOT to swallow it, else I'd throw up. He also treated my high fever. I gargled for three days in a row, but I did not feel like I had strep after the first day. I've used Alkalol ever since. I've never missed work due to strep. And my kids (4 step; 1 born to me) were cured of strep every time by this mixture. I also rinse my mouth guard in it, to this day (have TMJ; sleep with a mouth guard). The Alkalol works great!

HI, can this be used in the Nasaline syringe type nasal irrigator?  Thanks, David

I work for an ENT and this is used by mixing half of Alkalol and half of sterile warm water into the small cup. You use a Baby Nasal aspirator (the kind to clean infant mucus) and you fill it up with the contents from the cup and you flush each nostril with the aspirator. All your mucus will soften and come flushing out.

Do you or don't you mix this with say the NetiPot saline packets?

I always do! I never use my nasal rinse without the saline packets. I find you only need a little of the Alkalol mix to work well, so the bottle lasts a while! Definitely a product I recommend, especially if you have any type of sinus issues.
