Solid Rack, Well made
The HItch mount Rack Platform is sturdy and well made. You can easily make it into a one bike rack which I did. It is refreshing that Maxxhaul makes a bike rack that has a great price and really well made. The instructions are clearly terrible. Maxx Haul makes an easy project into a difficult one. They should start "over again". I am not the only person that find them stupidly unclear. Hire another person to take over that project. The wheel wells adjustment, the distance the wheel clamps are way from each other, is time consuming since they are almost impossible to slide. I had to take the wheel clamp off to move it. You need this adjusted perfectly because the bicycle will be more secure and balanced on the rack. You should probably make sure the air pressure in each tire is perfect since it does affect this adjustment. There is a bit of wiggle room so replacing the quick dissconect fitting, which hold the rack together, with regular bolts would make this rack absolutely solid. The great price and this solidly made rack makes this a very good deal.

Finally! Simple, sturdy, quality components, more than affordable.
It's $89, what do you expect? Well, I expected to get a poorly constructed, difficult to use, throw away piece of hardware that might get my walmart bikes to and from the campground. I've owned products from Thule and Yakima, and this certainly doesn't hold a match to the build quality of those big names. But it's $89. I expected $45 of cheap hardware and flimsy square stock. What I actually got was a decent piece of equipment that I am confident will last several years. Easy to assemble, easy to adjust, and easy to dismantle and store. Quality self-retaining through pins at every junction, more than enough horizontal and vertical adjustment to accommodate my 29er MTB and my wife's 26er (perfectly balanced, btw), and strong knurled knobs to cinch everything down. The rubber wheel straps are simply peace of mind, these bikes aren't moving. Need to get in the back of the Tahoe? Pull the pin and lay the bikes down. Is it easy? Not really, but it's not hard either. Oh, and it's $89. Throw in the bolt on, anti-wobble square bolt and 1/4 inch steel plate that doubles as a free theft deterrent? Yeah, I'm more than pleased. Got $7k worth of specialized carbons? Buy once, cry once; go buy a big name, you'll be glad you did. Got $1k in Walmart specials? Pull the trigger on this guy, you'll be glad you did. Frankly, if and when I move up to something intermediate, I won't hesitate to throw it on this rack. 89 bucks, and not a doubt in my mind the bikes are safely behind me when I get where I'm going. Good job to MAXXHAUL for finally putting out a rack that will do what the big names do, just as well, at a fraction of the price. Might buy another one just so I don't feel guilty, because I don't know how they made a dime on this thing.

Very Nice Product
Instructions are not great but looking it over its easy to figure out. Adding it to the truck is easy enough but its obviously a little awkward given what it easy. It seems really sturdy. My only complaint is the pin that is used to tilt the rack. When the bikes are mounted its difficult to get to it to tilt the rack to pull the inside bike off. For the price of this rack, its definitely a great buy for going between cycling sites. but I would definitely recommend looking for something else with built in protection if you ever plan to leave your bikes on the back of your vehicle while you are not present. There is no built in protection on this rack and its very easy to take it apart to get to your bikes even if they are chained to the rack.

Good Product, Served its Purpose
This served its purpose for as long as I needed it to, holds up two relatively large bikes quite well. Survived 4 8 hour trips, mostly on the highway. Easy to use, especially with a helping hand. Seems to work just as intended, holds the bikes in place. I haven't had any safety issues with this item.

Very nice carrier for the money.
I was surprised at the quality of this item at this price point. I went ahead and purchased it based on the positive reviews. I am not disappointed! It was pretty easy to put together. The only real issue I had was getting the hair pin through the receiver pin. I had to reverse the pin direction and wiggle it a bit to get it through. That could be as much due to my receiver box as the provided pin. I wasn't sure if the carrier would tilt forward for opening the hatch. As you can see from the photos that it does. That's great! It was easy to adjust to fit our bikes. A couple of things to know: 1. You need to make sure that your vehicle exhaust does NOT flow onto the carrier OR especially the bike tires. If it does, you will need a riser. Fortunately, I did not need a riser. 2. They recommend that you strap down the bikes to the rack, but they don't provide the straps. I'm using bungee cords and it works well. The only negative I have to say about it is that it does wobble a little more that I thought it would. I think you would have to spend several hundred more to get one with less wobble. This is not a big deal for me and it doesn't wobble enough to be a problem. It was easy take off the vehicle. The arms and vertical post easily come off for compact storage. I would recommend this to any friends or family looking for a hitch carrier. UPDATE: I tightened the bolt that servers as the hinge to tilt the carrier away from the vehicle. (See the 4th photo.) This has eliminated the wobble. I just carried my bike on a 160 mile round trip to do a ride at a national park. The carrier worked great! Once I arrived, I was quickly able to take it off the back of my car and stow it in the hatch while I rode my bike. Love this carrier!

RATTLES TOO MUCH ... BUT WORKS
NOT good for E-Bikes with 16" tires AND smaller The E-bike's brake rotors will get pried apart/out/BENT by at least 1/4" .. will destroy E-bike brake rotors when car is bouncing up and down the road. HOWEVER if you DIY FLIP the tire holder UP side down the tire holder will no longer touch the brake rotor and will hold the bike by the tires .. a bit deeper down / higher up. This however WILL make it so that less metal (TIRE HOLDER BARS/rack) will make contact and at a lower point to hold the bike via the tire. NOT sure if it's safe for the NORMAL people. This rack however is PERFECT for ALL REGULAR BIKES. I'm keeping it with my DIY fix and knowing the possible outcomes. As far as materials and durability goes VERY NICE AND THICK METAL ALL AROUND VERY STURDY FOR SURE WILL TAKE A SLEDGE HAMMER OR BETTER TO BREAK THIS SOLID BIKE RACK CONS: RATTLES TOO MUCH!!!! TOO MANY LOOSE PLACES NEEDS RUBBER SHIMS FOR ALL THE INSERTIONS TUBINGS TO PREVENT RATTLES

Worth it.
Good enough for our 17lb road bikes to take back and forth to shop when we need to. We'll built for the cost. No issues. Well worth the money. Simple. Easy assembly. Holds bikes just fine.

Nice Bike Rack for the Money
I was excited to find this type of bike rack for such a reasonable price and overall, I'm quite happy with my purchase. My first impression was that the rack appears to be well made and sturdy (only time will tell). The only thing that kept me from giving it five stars was upon opening the box, I noticed that the rubber padding on the arm that secures the top tube was already splitting. Given time and exposure to the elements, this padding will completely disintegrate and will no longer protect the bike paint. The rack was quite easy to put together, install on my vehicle and easy to load the bike on. Getting things adjusted to the bike took a bit of time but that's to be expected. I am really happy that the rack can tilt away from my vehicle so I can open my tailgate and access things in the back without needing to remove it. All in all, I think this was a great purchase and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. I would, however, like the manufacturer to improve the quality of the materials that pad the top bar. Even if it cost a little more, it would be worth it.

Works as advertised. Value for money.
You can't beat this price for an entry level tow hitch bike rack. Value for money. Works as advertised. Rack was surprisingly stable even at high speed (up to 100km/hr on motorway). Didn't get to drive off road with this. Would advise to add anti-vibration clamp and tow lock. Taking 1 star away as the included tow pin was poorly machined and too short and thick for my tow hitch. Had to manual grind it to get it to fit. The other tow lock I bought separately had no issues at all. Relatively light weight, easy to assemble and disassemble (approx 3-5mins). Does well for its intended purpose. Would recommend to other potential buyers.

Good bike rack - excellent value
This is a very sturdy, well designed rack that is easy to put together and holds two bikes really securely. It works as well as racks that cost four times the price and seems like it will stand up to a lot of use. Note the total weight limit is 75lbs so it may not accommodate heavy e-bikes.

Geez this is good. Fits 29โ
A surprising good product. I thought it might be lacking somewhere (finish) because of the price. Not so. Well packaged. East to follow instructions (though hardly needed, other than knowing which pin goes where), very well finished with everything fitting neatly and tightly where it should. I have no hesitation recommend this rack. Fits my 29โ MT bike fine despite their disclaimer.

Great bike rack and very study as well
This fits very well and is very strong as well. Its safer than most of the other bike racks and the mounting does not take much time as well. This can be easily dismantled and stored in the trunk of the car. It takes about 10-15min to attach it to the car and mount the cycles so very satisfied with the purchase and highly recommend this rack.

Quality beyond price range
Very easy to assemble. Says it fits 20"-26" tires. I fit a 27.5 and a 29 no problem. Only issue arises with tire width. My 27.5 has 2.35" wide tires. It fits, but is very snug. Could likely bend it out a bit. Overall very happy with the product. Very sturdy, secured bikes nicely. Not sure why anyone would spend $400 on a similair carrier when this does the same things for nearly a quarter of the price. ๐
