Genuine Ford FL3Z-99286A40-C Bed Extender

Great product, easy installation, great seller. One note if you had a spray in bed liner like me put in from the factory, you will have to work the bolts in and out to clear out the extra spray in the bolt hole that Ford was too lazy to mask tape up. Other than that I have zero complaints. Folded forward you can put groceries or what ever and it won't go all over the bed, folded back you can put more in the bed. It also clicks to the side folded in and is virtually out of the way.

Item arrived as scheduled but with one minor problem with the order in that it was missing one item. The seller promptly shipped out a complete new package to ensure I had the correct parts to get this installed then took the previous order on return. The rack itself is great - standard Ford OEM that bolts right into place and works like it's supposed to.

Yes, it's plastic and yes, it's expensive but this is an essential option for anyone with a 5.5' bed. Install was super easy even though the instructions were lacking...Just be sure to have a T50 torx bit on hand. Note, as others have mentioned, access to the bed light switch is extremely limited with this installed...

Just installed this on a 2019 f150 Super crew 5.5’ bed. I have the factory drop in liner so I changed out the supplied optional bumpers on the side that lays in the bed. It works fine. I like that this version splits apart and stores against the sides so you can carry wider loads without having to remove and store the extender like I used to with the traditional one piece extenders.

The good; easy installation, locks solidly in place, breaks down in two pieces and folds to sides behind wheel wells, can be flipped forward and back with the OEM Boxlink bed cleats in place, no interference with Bak Flip tonneau cover, well designed and thought out. The bad; overpriced for primarily plastic construction, accessing in bed light switch for LED bed lighting is difficult - I have to fold back my tonneau cover and reach down from the top cannot access the switch with the tonneau cover in place, when broken down folded behind the wheel wells the extender sticks out beyond them, removal of the entire assembly if the full use of the bed is needed requires a T50 Torx bit. I needed some type of bed divider since my redneck divider of cutting down a 2x8 in my 2013 F-150 was not working with my 2015. The pockets for the 2x are too far to the rear in the 2015 and the OEM Boxlink bed cleats had to be removed to get a 2x in and out. This looked like a better and more versatile option than the OEM bed divider. Overall I am happy with it, just wish I could access the in bed light switch without having to open the tonneau cover and wish it was more easily removable.

I installed this on a 2018 Ford Raptor Super Crew. Installation is straightforward and easy however no instructions are included with the bed extender. Make sure you pre-tap the threads for the bolts and have a T50 torx bit. I used a Dremel tool to remove the spray in bedliner from the holes in the bed where the locking mechanism goes.

Received wrong parts and missing installation hardware. The two sides of the extender are not matching as a set (SEE PICTURE) plus half the hardware is missing.

Wholesale Direct Parts had an attractive price and shipped the item promptly and it was genuine Ford. The driver side gate had a minor manufacturing defect in which a small fragment of injection molding got trapped inside and made a very annoying rattle. There was no way to extract it without drilling into the plastic. It was not installed as it rattled right out of the box. Rachael at WDP was nice and asked if we wanted a refund or an exchange. We were ok with an exchange but then Rachael discovered that the part was out of stock indefinitely, so we had to elect for a refund instead. Amazon prime had previously sent us a return shipping label and we sent it back. Rachael also offered to send a shipping label. The Amazon Prime site says that the refund (as of this moment) was "approved." Update: Refund credited
