Work great!
We bought this to replace the A frame ladder that came with our pool after we built a wrap around deck and could no longer use the ladder that goes inside and outside the pool. As with all of my pool purchases I read a lot of reviews before I buy anything because it is sooo expensive for pool stuff and sometimes it's still junk. I would agree with other reviewers that it was a bit of work to put it together, but certainly less difficult that the ladder that came with the pool. Anybody could probably do it. My husband put it together inside - don't do this it left little plastic shavings everywhere. We had to trim the arms to get them to fit but the instructions tell you to do this so you will need a saw. I was hesitant to drill holes in my resin top ledge, but there is no way it would be sturdy without doing this. Holes were easy to make and doesn't seem to bother the pool much. My husband is 6'3" and almost 300 lbs - didn't budge when he gets in or out. He did drill a couple holes in the inside where nobody could see them to fill it with water. Like another reviewer said, it still wants to float but just barely. This actually takes up less space than the A ladder we had been using that came with the pool. And it was scary getting in and out because it would wobble side to side. If I had to dig deep and find anything I don't like so far - I don't really care for the hole in the middle where the light can go. I wish there was a piece there you had to pop out if you were going to use the light. We went with a return fitting light (you can read my review on that too - LOVE IT!). But honestly it's not that noticeable. One thing worth noting, there's a circle notch on the outside of each of the arms outside of the pool. I have no idea what these are for. Maybe to hang a sign that says "pool closed?" or something across the ladder arms? Not sure but the instructions don't say anywhere what these are for. Overall very pleased, would buy again.

Solid ladder
Unit was very easy to install. Directions were decent. There were a lot of photos to clarify steps. I drilled the 1/4 inch holes the instructions suggested and the treads and risers filled with water very fast. The instructions said to add 10 to 15 pounds of clean gravel to each stringer. I added 30 pounds of sand in each and there was plenty of room for more. With the 60 pounds the ladder does not move at all. Adding sand was tedious the holes are small. I used a funnel and a gallon bucket to add sand it took a while but worth the effort. The only issue I had was the rear deck flanges. The directions say to drill a 5/16 hole and use a 3/4 bolt nut and washer to secure the upper rail to the flange. The washers are too big to fit into the area where the bolt goes. I installed without the washers and next time I am at the hardware store I will see if I can find some with a smaller outside diameter. The upper rails flex a bit but not nearly as bad as the A frame ladder I had prior. I think metal rails for the top would be better.

Nice ladder, but you need to be handy!!
The ladder turned out exactly how I wanted it! However, if my husband wasn't a "handyman" or equipped with a few extra tools I don't think this ladder would of worked for us. The steps come flat. You need a heat gun to bend them into actual steps. The instructions say you can use hot water but thay is laughable considering how much heat we needed to apply. There is also multiple screws and we also ended up drilling additional holes to help it sink to the bottom. All of this took a few hours. If you can put in the work and don't mind doing the above it's worth the purchase!

JUNK
Junk!!! It came without multiple parts... Zero hardware and ZERO help with customer service. Once you start putting it together (like legos) it's impossible to take apart. Paid more money for the hardware, put it in the pool and it will NOT sink. Very unstable.

Nice but one problem
These stairs are nice but the arms that are supposed to attach it to your deck are NOT long enough at all. We had to fabricate an extension. Luckily my husband is handy like that. He welded together an aluminum platform that he screwed to the deck so he could attach the arms to. Because of this...I recommend you make sure these tiny arms are going to be long enough for your deck before you spend your money.

Great quality for the price
Bought these because they fit our budget. The stairs are very easy to assemble and very sturdy. I assembled them mostly myself with some help from my young son. A word of caution, the back edge of the top step was a bit sharp and I can see it damaging the pool liner if it makes contact. I sanded it smooth and it's not a concern. I had to add a small block of wood to attach it more securely to the deck but that was easy. Also, instead of filling it with sand, I zip tied a couple of weights to the inside of the ladder and that keeps the stairs securely in place. When the time comes to close the pool, it should be easy enough to lift the stairs out of the pool after removing the weights. I definitely recommend the product.

Solid pool stairs
These were pretty easy to put together. Solid material. The height we had to adjust by cutting a portion off to make it sit between our deck and our pool right. They’ve held up to the kids and adults.
