Would this work on running boards?

If the surface is either rubber or plastic, I don't see why you couldn't use it there. It does not make is slippery, just a little tacky and much better looking.

Would this be good for bumper covers on a 2001 chrysler pt cruiser? (unpainted, original charcoal gray color)

Wider Worked on my Ford truck, but needs to be reapplied often.

Can I use this on the metal discoloration?

Most likely not going to work , works great on plastic
