PURA D'OR Organic Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Natural Smoky Scent

the actual oil is incredible! i have seen so much growth in my eyelashes and eyebrows. i’ve also been using it on my face as a pulling oil for blackheads and under my eyes for dark circles. i haven’t seen too much about that but i decided it just try it out, and it worked wonders. my eyelashes are the longest they’ve ever been and my skin is the smoothest/glowiest it’s ever been. however the tubes that come with kind of suck. they didn’t feel super cheap or anything and didn’t leak. however, not long after having them in my makeup bag they both cracked. this made it hard to close and they ofc started spilling. i’m sad but i loved the easy access of the applicators and it made it so much more likely for me to use it. still giving this 5 stars though because the actual product is a miracle worker!! next im going to try it for hair growth on my scalp and see what happens.

I started using the "mascara" and the "eyebrow" oil, and did it religiously for about 3 days, and then I got really busy, and distracted, and tired at night and I kept forgetting to use it. Ugh! But, I do like it. It is a lot LESS MESSY than I expected an oil to be, and the fact that they make it in an mascara tube, and a tube that you can just brush the oil onto your eyebrows is just so awesome. I was afraid that by putting it on my eyelashes before I go to bed, it would get the oil in my eyes, and become a real mess - IT DID NONE OF THAT. It actually felt good on my eyelashes. And putting it on my eyebrows is also very easy. I haven't tried using it on my hair yet, because I am using another product on my hair right now to make it grow. But when that is gone, I will also try this on my hair. Everybody was saying that this oil is "heavy." I honestly find it to be what I consider to be light - and the perfect consistency for what I am using it for. I promise to do better, and start using it on a regular basis again, and if I have good results - I will add to my review. All I can say now is that I LIKE IT VERY MUCH, AND RECOMMEND IT, AND IT IS NOT "MESSY" OR "HEAVY" - AT LEAST NOT TO ME. TO ME, IT IS WONDERFUL.

- I have a very recent order, oil did not leak much - the smell is quite potent (of cigarettes). After looking it up, it is supposed to smell like that ^maybe i would not have bought it if I knew it was this potent BUT I really really want longer thicker lashes (even if it is not proven) - i do feel it slightly “sting” my eyeballs and do smell the “cigarette Smokey-ness” but like I said, I really want fuller lashes - it has a sticker on the box that tells you where to go for a free bottle, it does not look like they want a positive review for it, just some basic info to where to send it to since the sticker directs you to a different site - I have not gotten the free bottle or applied for it -the oil itself- is viscous!!! It makes me jajoba oil look like water. - I suggest looking up “dr dray castor oil” and “science vs. anecdotal evidence and reviews” by lab muffin beauty science - dr dray says the lashes only APPEAR fuller and longer because the thick oil builds up on the lashes....... it won’t actually grow your hair, she says. -if it makes it appear fuller and thicker, I think I’m satisfied with that

When I had a problem with hair loss, I began using this product and hair stopped falling out after about a month! Eyelashes seem fuller and thicker as well. It is super on dry areas. I have ordered this many times for myself as well as others. Product is great but packaging needs to be improved! This current order was a gift. It was disappointing to learn that the small tubes had leaked all over in the packaging.

Love this Castor Oil. Nice quality and works. I actually enjoy the smell. I use it as an overnight treatment on my face. Took stars as I’m really disappointed I didn’t get the small vials/applicators advertised in the listing. I only received the main bottle of oil. Not sure why they were sent. It’s oil so yes it is “greasy” - when I use on my face - a light coating - it is oily but it washes off easily in the morning. I spread the rest from my fingers over my hands and nails and I do not think it feels greasy. Thick oil, yellow in color. Decent size bottle of oil as I use 4 drops every night and get full face and neck coverage. I still have plenty in the bottle. I have noticed my lashes (I bat my lashes against my finger which has oil on it since I didn’t get the applicator) seem a bit fuller. Same with eyebrows. I have also noticed new growth around my forehead hairline. Great product!! Just wish the advertised products were all included as stated.

I have only recently been using castor oil for eyelash/eyebrow growth. I bought my previous small bottle at Walmart and could see really slow growth. Once I started using this Jamaican castor oil I could see my eyelashes grow much faster within a week! I didn’t take a picture so I can’t make a visual comparison but I can tell that this castor oil works well for me. It also comes with the little bottles, which makes it convenient to carry around. The only downside is the smell. It smell like someone smoking cigarettes.

I've been using this product weekly for several months. I would put it on once and a while then I started doing it more frequently when I got passed or used to the cigarette smell because I was really hopeful that I would see good results. I was using it daily for about a week and a half because I had a cold and wanted to keep my face moisturized so my skin wouldn't be irritated from tissues. I got a weird rash and a skin sensativity as a result. I stopped using it and in 2 days my rashes cleared. I should have seen some hair growth results by now and haven't. I really wanted this product to work but it literally stinks, hasnt helped and gave me a rash. I'll throw them all away and try something else.

This package includes three bottles. One for mascara, one is like a eye liner and a bigger bottle. I can't tell you if my eyelashes are really growing faster yet, but I am very impressed with how easy it is for me to put it overnight with the accessories. I do encourage you to buy it if you're interested. Ps- the smell isn't bad at all.

Honestly I don’t know why people say it smells horrendous, yes it smells ashy but nowhere close to ashtray scented. It works fantastically for maintaining box braids (which I used it for)

This gets 4 stars but it is extremely hard to spread around also the smell is HORRENDOUS. you will smell like a dirty ashtray. But I love that it comes with the bottle and Doppler also a mascara type wand and a little brush applicator. It’s easy to put on my brows and lashes . I have noticed a difference in the last few weeks on my brows.

Hair growth and eyelashes

I absolutely love this castor oil, it's the only thing that soothes my dry skin. My only complaint is that one of the free gifts wasn't packaged properly and had been leaking when I received it (anyone who's used Castor oil in the past knows it's a pain to clean up lol). Otherwise, not a single complaint w the actual product.
