Would this gauge (12) be enough to power a 15 amp chop saw about 500 feet away?

Is the cross section 3.5~4mm(AWG12)?

For 12 AWG THHN insulated wire, the exterior diameter including insulation measures very close to 3 mm. The diameter of the bare strands measure approximately 2 mm.

It is all Cooper and has 19 threads.

Strong wire

I used this wire to construct a balanced terminated folded dipole 196' long. Being a folded dipole it used double the normal bit of wire (almost 400')! Strung the antenna up for field day. Had a guy on each end pulling on the ropes to tighten it up. Held up well. Green also helped it blend in better with surrounding landscape. Bought a second reel for another project.
