I decided to try Amara Organics Aloe Vera gel because I suffer from acne and wanted to try using a natural, gentle product on my face. My acne flares up a lot when my skin is dry. I live in NYC, where the winters can be brutal on my skin, and acne products make my acne so much worse, because they dry out my skin even more. During the very humid summers, my face can get quite greasy, which causes my face to break out as well. Basically, my skin doesn't know how to regulate itself. "/ I've waited a few months to write this review, because I wanted to see the long term affects this product had on my skin. First, I would like to point out that Amara Organics sent me an email days after I made my order thanking me for my purchase while explaining what it can be used for and how if differs from aloe Vera gel you may buy at a drug store. They also attached an ebook with simple recipes I can use with my new aloe gel. I loved that they gave me ideas on how to use their product! As for the Aloe Vera gel: I've used natural aloe gel from the plant for years, which has a very gooey consistency and can leave my skin feeling sticky. The natural plant can be great for sunburns or a face mask, but after a few minutes I want to wash it off. Amara Organics has a very loose, almost watery consistency, which works perfectly for daily use. It didn't leave my face sticky, nor did I feel the need to wash it off. How it affected my skin: I applied the gel after I washed my face and before I applied my moisturizer. If my face feels a little dry that day I will either use less aloe or skip using it that day. During the winter months, when my acne is at its worst, I have to use this aloe gel sparingly, but I still feel that it helped my skin overall. My pores seem smaller, the texture is healthier, my acne marks don't seem to last as long. As the weather in NY becomes more humid, I love this product more and more. Usually, by midday I would have to wipe the grease off my face, but while using AO aloe gel, my face oils feel more balanced. I can use more gel and less moisturizer. I can't wait to use it after a day at the beach! Overall, I recommend this product. Not only is the product great and 100% natural, the company did a great job explaining all the different ways it can be used. I can't wait to try this on a sunburn!

I ordered the Amara Organics Aloe Vera gel because I needed it in an organic natural body butter recipe I was making, & it worked really well. Then I decided to try it as a natural facial moisturizer. I have mild psoriasis & it was beginning to appear on my cheeks. They were very red patches with tiny bumps & quite dry. Nothing I tried worked, not even the cream from the doctor. I didn't want to use commercial facial moisturizers any more & coconut oil wasn't helping. I decided to try using the Amara organic aloe gel instead. It doesn't have an odor or color & is very light to the touch. It felt wonderful & soothing on my face, but it wasn't enough moisturizer for my skin. (Note: Just before it's dry it will feel very sticky/tacky. Stop rubbing & give it a minute. It dries quickly & thats when the wonderful starts.) One day I had the idea to add one drop of Ameo's true lavender essential oil to the gel to see if it would enhance the moisturizing & calm the psoriasis, but I was worried the smell would be quite strong on my face. Well, I worried for nothing. After applying it, within minutes my face started to feel wonderfully soothed, & silky soft, & the oil smelled amazing! The combination of Ameo's essential oil & the Amara organic aloe gel is truly fantastic! It's now the only thing I will use on my face. After one week the bumps & dryness were gone & my cheeks now have a soft rosy glow, not angry red splotches. My friends noticed right away & said my skin was looking great. It feels so soft & silky that I keep petting my face. Silly I know, but it's true. This product will forever be a must have in my home. I use it as a light hand moisturizer, after I've toweled off after showering to feel silky soft, after being in the sun (even without a sunburn), or anytime I want a little soothing & moisturizing for any part of my skin. It's also awesome for insect bites! This is definitely one of the best all around, multiuse products on the market! I've been using this for a few years and I love it. I can tell a difference in my skin when I haven't used in a few months. I don't use it too often, just after a shower about once or twice a month. It doesn't work the same as a lotion or moisturizer, but it has other worthwhile benefits. It makes my skin smooth and more wrinkle-free and it helps calm redness. It makes my hair shinier and more manageable. It's a life saver after a sunburn, I've gotten some bad sunburns and I applied this like every 30 minutes and it worked so well. I hope they never discontinue or change up this product. I'm looking into trying other products from Amara. It does have a smell, but it's slight and goes away after it's dried. It's not a bad smell either, just something that comes with having a natural product without scent added. It does sometimes come with a brownish tint, or develop the tint over time, but again this just comes with a natural product and this color doesn't affect how well the aloe works. On my face I use this on my face occasionally, especially when my face is irritated from anything from a bad acne breakout to a long swim in a chlorine pool to chapped and dry from the winter wind. It calms the redness and inflammation so effectively, the results are instant. If I use it on my face too often, or too much, then my face does turn red and reacts. This is pure aloe so it is a little strong for the face, so I don't do it too often, I always dilute with water, and I put on lotion when it's almost soaked in. I cleanse my face, wet it, put the aloe on, let it soak in until its almost dry, and then put my CeraVe lotion on. It helps to follow up with lotion. On my body I especially like using this after I've shaved, it keeps the redness away and makes my skin so smooth. After a shower, I don't dry off, I put the aloe on, and let it soak in till dry. I put lotion on after. On my hair After a shower when my hair is wet, I just put in my hair and let it dry. I do it a few days before an important event, not the day of, because it does make my hair a bit more unmanageable until I wet it again, when it's better than before.

Really great product. Just wish it was a bit more affordable. I now get mine from Mountain Rose Herbs for like $6-8 for the same size/thing. So I just do bulk orders with them now. Have been reading stuff about Amazon worker conditions not being very good too, so am trying to use smaller businesses and just pay the shipping. It worked out cheaper than this method anyways. Or evened out, even with the shipping charges. Aloe totally stains clothes though. Just a warning for people. I had yellow stains on my sheets and shirts from it. Have your bleach or oxy clean ready to go. This stuff works great on chicken skin too, aka Keratosis Pilaris, because aloe contains salicylic acid along with moisturizing. Works better than anything else I’ve tried for it, a crappp ton of other oils; coconut, avocado, rosehip, grapeseed, hemp, ect. But for keratosis pilaris it needs that alpha hydroxy acid to break down the built up keratin.

've been fighting acne for almost 15 years - everything from hormonal pre-teen acne to the "I'm-25-what-the-heck-are-you-still-doing-on-my-face" adult acne. I haven't had a new breakout since starting this routine and I continue to see small improvements every single day. This feels so great on my skin! It's not sticky at all and has made a huge difference in the redness I experience on my nose and cheeks. I purchased this product with one thing in mind. Bugs love me and we were headed to Belize where the local sand flies have caused me sleepless nights, questionable days, and visible marks for weeks (to the point people stared or volunteered remedies). I tried every remedy the locals, other travelers and online posts recommended. The only remedy that gave me relief was rubbing fresh aloe vera leaves on the bites. Basic store-bought aloe gel didn't work. One thing I learned was early and regular application of the aloe leaves was critical. Once the bites swelled up and/or reacted, recovery time was even longer. So this time I was determined to go on vacation prepared! After further online research and since fresh leaves/100% aloe appeared to work, I decided to try Amara Organics' Aloe Vera and hoped for the best as we headed to Belize for 2 weeks. The Amara Organics gel worked! In fact, it even worked to relieve the random mosquito bites that managed to get around the bug repellant I used. What was even better there was no stickiness, even with repeated applications between showering. Later when I had a little too much sun, I was able to apply the aloe like a lotion. Between the bug bites and sunburn, the relief was impressive. By the end of the trip, I was applying it 2-3 times a day. Any new bug bites stayed as little dots (more like my husband's bites) instead of the large, red welts I usually have. As a follow up, on our last night's stay the bugs found me with a vengeance. I put the gel on in the next morning but unfortunately our luggage (with the gel) was delayed. Low and behold, the bites started swelling by the time we got home late that night. I love this aloe vera gel! This year I turned 70 (!) and developed rosacea. Ugh. The prescription gel prescribed by my doctor was so strong and had bad side effects. I researched rosacea and found out several things. Aloe vera is fabulous for calming/cooling rosacea and keeping the red and bumps at bay. It also has natural anti-bacterial elements to it. Paired with a moisturizer over it is the key (DML body lotion - it’s unscented). This aloe vera gel is not thick or sticky. It goes on easily. I let it soak in for ten minutes, then top my face with DML lotion. Other things I learned about rosacea - use a very mild cleanser - no retinol or scented products - no exfoliating or rough face clothes or towels. Pat dry. Now, after several weeks of trying this, my skin looks GREAT. Very little redness or bumps. Makeup goes on smoothly and my skin is so soft.

Betroffen waren Dekolleté, Rücken, Bauch und Beine. Da gab mir meine Schwägerin ein Blatt einer Aloe Vera Pflanze, mit der ich die betroffenen Stellen eingerieben habe. Man konnte zusehen, wie die Allergie verschwand. Doch das Beste war, dass der Juckreiz sofort weg war. Dieses Jahr habe ich mich zu dem Kauf des Aloe Vera Gels entschlossen, da das einfacher in der Anwendung ist. Ich habe es nicht bereut. Sofort bei den ersten Anzeichen habe ich das Gel aufgetragen und die Sonnenallergie wurde sofort besser. Außerdem hatte ich mir im Bereich des Dekolletés einen Sonnenbrand geholt. Auch da wirkte das Aloe Vera Gel wunderbar kühlend. Es lässt sich super leicht auftragen, zieht schnell ein und hinterlässt keinen klebrigen Film und ist dabei sehr ergiebig. Inhaltsstoffe: Das Gel ist kaltgepresst und besteht zu 99,75 % aus kaltgepresster Aloe Vera und zu 0,25% aus Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Ascorbic Acid und Xantan. Das sind alles Stoffe die für Naturkosmetik zugelassen sind, auch das Potassium Sorbate. Das ist sogar als Konservierungsmittel für Lebensmittel zugelassen, entspricht den Kriterien des BDIH.
