Not one of Nino Rota's most famous scores, to be sure, but utterly gorgeous and appropriate.He did a great job on this one (and sometimes it's nice not to hear the Fellini circus music, you know?).

At last, the music (soundtrack) of this remarkable film. The music is so fine and was written and directed by one of the best music film composers. Every note remind us the drama of the film.

After seeing the film dozens of times I was thrilled to purchase the orignal soundtrack I was hoping to find for such a long time! A must for all the Agatha Christie film lovers! I definitely consider it one of Nino Rota's masterpieces. The melodies are outstanding. Simply beautiful. I had previously purchased the soundtrack cds of "MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS" and "EVIL UNDER THE SUN", both fantastic and released by DGR soundtracks. I'm looking forward to a fourth soundtrack release of "THE MIRROR CRACK'D" from the homonymous picture staring Angela Landsbury, Liz Tayor, Rock Hudson, Tony Curtis, Kim Novak: that would make a perfect poker!

I tried to get this performance some years ago and found it was unavailable through retail channels. I tried the ABC and even the BBC when in London but was unsuccessful. I was delighted to find it now available through Amazon, and it was less expensive than through stores. Full marks to Amazon and five stars for the score, it is amazing.

Great product!It's very good 'feeling' to hear again this music,...Excelent quality,....!,...but one of my most prefered song is missing from the soundtrack,......that is, why I've rated this item '4 stars' only

ＢＳでナイル殺人事件を見て、久しぶりに聞きたくなって探したのですが、国内ではなく、海外購入で値段も安く購入できました。商品はアメリカから予定より２日遅れで届きました。パッキングもきちんとしていて、良かったです。曲もiphoneに取り込んで聞いています。ナイル川をクルーズしているような気分でよく眠れます。

いやあ、素晴らしい。こんなレアな音源が21世紀に入ってデジタルとして再発されるとは！　思えば中学生のとき荻昌弘氏の解説でおなじみの月曜ロードショーで見て以来、繰り返し『ナイル殺人事件』を鑑賞してきた。音楽も「このシーンではコレ」という風に、ほとんど頭に入っている。ちなみにタンゴの名曲〈ジェラシー〉も、この映画で初めて知った。ニーノ・ロータのオリジナルスコアは、正直『ゴッドファーザー』や『太陽がいっぱい』ほど素敵じゃないなあ、などと昔は思っていたのだが、最近何度も聴いているうちに、いやこれはこれでいい、と思うようになった。本当だったらモーリス・ジャールあたりに書かせたらしっくりくるような世界観だが、それをニーノ・ロータがやっていることが面白い。壮大なスケール感がよく出ているし、フェリーニ作品の楽曲とはまた違った魅力がある。エジプトには残念ながら行ったことがないけれど、行く機会があれば、頭の中にはこのサントラがヘヴィーローテーション間違いなしだ。ピラミッドに登るとき、ナイル川を下るとき、必ず何度も脳内再生されてしまうだろう。黒い背景に黄金のファラオ、そこに描かれた主要登場人物たちの顔、というジャケット・デザインも格好いいので、CD棚に見えるように飾っている。

名探偵ポワロが登場する、1978年公開のミステリー映画「ナイル殺人事件」のサントラ盤、初の単独盤です。もちろん、原作は、アガサ・クリスティの「ナイルに死す」。作曲は、何と「太陽がいっぱい」「ゴッドファーザー」の巨匠ニーノ・ロータ！ナイルをイメージしたスケールが大きく壮大なメイン・タイトル、華やで起伏の大きい豊かなメロディでオーソドックスなオーケストレーションを中心に、全体的に時代背景を表現したクラシック調や、ワルツなど、自由自在。まさに、映画の舞台である時代を表現した作品が、その音楽自身がハリウッド映画の黄金期の雰囲気を醸し出しています。今の作品には無い、味わい深い映画音楽です。なお、ライナーノーツは、見開き４つ折り８ページのオールカラーで、英文解説と映画のグラフィック・イラスト入りです。オールスター・キャストによるアガサ・クリスティ原作小説の映画化作品は、「オリエント急行殺人事件」「ナイル殺人事件」「クリスタル殺人事件」「地中海殺人事件」「ドーバー海峡殺人事件」「死海殺人事件」と続きますが、音楽面では、リチャード・ロドニー・ベネット作曲の「オリエント急行殺人事件」と、ニーノ・ロータの「ナイル殺人事件」が突出して良い出来でした。

This memorable soundtrack was written very late in his career by one of the most prolific and talented of film composers, Nino Rota, and is a fitting tribute to his consummate craftsmanship. The main theme gets the story off to a rousing start - it also makes a welcome return later, most notably when the steamship is getting under way for its fateful voyage down the Nile. By turns mysterious, suspenseful, languid and romantic, the rest of the wonderfully atmospheric music greatly supports and enhances the viewing experience, as any successful film music should. Recording quality is excellent.Highly recommended both for soundtrack aficionados and anyone who wants a reminder of this hugely entertaining film and its cast of legendary Hollywood stars.

Die Musik aus diesem großartigen Film ist wundervoll- und ich bin sehr froh über diese CD. Lieferung unkompliziert- wie die ganze Abhandlung. TOP!!!
