Wiggle!

Excellent beginning read aloud
Very fun, interactive book that became a nightly staple. My toddler loved this book starting at about 8 months. This books gives you a chance to get started into a nightly reading routine with just enough variety and movement to get through a quick story and hold baby's attention.

Nice interactivity, well done
Good graphics that are not overwhelmed by words (so this is a book for prereading and learning-to-read children), and the "interactive" aspect of it - using a finger through the book to become parts of narrated pictures - makes kids laugh and involves them kinesthetically.

Great Baby Shower gift
We LOVE this book! Perfect for baby showers, especially babies with siblings - so the older siblings can be assigned to read this with the new baby. Cute illustrations. My kids ages 8-1 all love this one.

Ehh. We'll skip any others.
I bought this book after it appeared on a few "Best Board Books for 2015" lists. The premise is cute, but many of the things that your finger subs in for the "wiggle" are just kind of awkward. Also, I wasn't familiar with Taro Gomi's other work when I bought this, so I didn't realize just how stylized it is. Its kind of cute to me, but the animals are not immediately recognizable so there's no way, for example, that the baby would learn what a deer is from the drawing.Overall, it's fine but there's definitely better board books out there and I wouldn't have bought it if I had seen it in person before buying.

Cute board book concept
We purchased this book in March 2014 content unseen after checking out one of the author's other books, Peekaboo, from the library. The board book has 8 double page spreads (ie, 8 animals, 16 pages, each animal on two pages). The animals are cat, elephant, deer, penguin, crocodile, snake, chameleon, seagull. Each double page spread has one sentence with the general template of "The <animal> <verb> his/her <body part>". As mentioned in the product description, this board book has a hole cut into it (eg, where the robot's nose would be on the cover). The book uses this hole for a fun, interactive effect where you can use your finger to be the cat's tail or the elephant's trunk. This book is fun to read to your kid. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that although fun, I was a little disappointed with the illustrations on the inside. I thought they would be in a similar style as the cover. However, the drawings on the inside are more simplistic in comparison. They are still nice but not what I expected and I'm reminded of that every time we read the book together. For that reason, even though the book is fun, I think if I had seen the book before buying, I would not have purchased it. Still, now that we have it, we still read it sometimes. In the 3 months that we've had it, my 1.5 year old doesn't bring it to read that often. Perhaps this will change in the future when he will want to be the wiggler!

Good interactive book
This was a very successful purchase. It's difficult finding books that little hands can't rip up. The page in this book seem really strong. It is the first book to be picked up due to the interactive nature of it.
