Halo Headband Sweatband Protex Bandana Integrated Sweat Headband

This headband helps prevent sweat from running into my eyes better than a normal bandana. It is comfortable and easy to put on and easy enough to remove.

I bought two of these before my first century in Southern California, figuring with my bald head I'd get a nice sunburn helmet pattern otherwise. I have been wearing one on all my training rides since and I love them. I no longer get stinging in my eyes from sweat - although I don't sweat very much, it used to be just enough to eventually get stinging in my eyes on long rides. No sunburn either. They are extremely comfortable, I actually forget that I am wearing one. Also, the head temperature stays just right. With "winter" coming up in Southern California, a little extra wind protection will be appreciated. Since the material dries so quickly, you can just rinse the cap out with a little soap after a ride and let it dry. The fit is great. Although I have a relatively small head, I can tie the cap in the back so that there are no wrinkles under the helmet and the helmet sits solid without pressure points. As I choose to only tie a single knot, the tied straps in the back eventually may get undone and become streamers in the wind. But again, I don't even notice that until I take the bike helmet off. Not cheap, but for me it was definitely worth spending the extra money for the quick dry material.

One of the things I hate about working out is sweating. I sweat more than my fair share, and it can be hard to stay focused when you're wiping sweat off your forehead, blinking stinging sweat out of your eyes, or getting distracted by it puffing out in front of you when your breath really gets going. Sure, a cap will buy you a few minutes, but eventually, if you're like me, you're just putting off the inevitable for a little bit. The Halo Sweatband, on the other hand, buys me a lot of time. The thin mesh skull wrap really does help breathe moisture out, and even after the moisture exceeds its evaporative ability, you get even more time because of the no-pass silicone strip that runs along your forward (so the sweat that does drip, will drip down the side of your face, where you'll hardly notice it). Overall, I'd say this typically buys me anywhere from 15-35 minutes before I start to "feel" sweaty--depending mostly on the intensity of the workout and the ambient conditions--and even after it's saturated it still does a good job minimizing the discomfort of having sweat rolling towards your eyes. Yes, you tend to look like a doofus wearing one of these (unless you've got it under a helmet). But look at it this way, if you're like me--one of the unfortunate people who just sweats no matter how in shape they get--you can either look like a bit of a workout doofus, or you can look like a sweaty mess. I'll take doofus. I have two of these, and they've worked well through months of exercising. No rips, no staining, and they wash up easily.

I bought three of these back in 2012, and just ordered a few more because I gave one away and I use them so often that usually my two remaining ones are in the laundry hamper when I need one. I originally purchased these for mountain biking. Here in Florida, in the summer, with high humidity, it's pretty easy for stinging sweat to trickle down into your eyes. This works MUCH better than a sweat band or a bandana. It keeps most of the sweat from running down into your face. There's a small plastic ridge on the inside of the fabric, over your eyes, that redirects the sweat to the left and right, and most of the time it works. I still have to occasionally wipe my face, but nowhere near as often as with a sweat band or a bandana. I have also been using the Halo for yard work. The material is synthetic and is porous and does wick moisture away (assuming you're not wearing a hat, or wearing a modern ventilated bicycle helmet). Because of this, it also doesn't make your head warm, which is a problem I used to have with regular cotton bandanas. My old ones are now around three years old, and they get a lot of use, but they haven't worn out yet. No holes, and the straps aren't frayed yet.

I’ve had dew rags since being a kid. I have literally had over a hundred in my lifetime. I’ve used them to ride bikes, motorcycles, and work in the sun. This is by far the best I’ve ever owned. The stitching quality, the design, the materials are all great! The strip that stops sweat from getting into your eyes is the best I’ve personally encountered. It’s the most expensive I’ve ever purchased too. That said, I’m glad I did. This is my new favorite go to headgear. The fit is great and it breathes comfortably. You also get full sun protection. Highly recommended!

But too be fair I think $20 should be the max for 1, but you can't deny the results. I've tried headbands for years and they all moved and let longer hair fall back into the eyes after a few minutes of moderate activity. This didn't move once for any of my hour plus gym visits. Once you measure and tie it, it stays good to go after that.

I wear this bandana every single day to work in a kitchen. For me, it serves three purposes: 1) it keeps my hair from flying around, 2) it absorbs and wicks away sweat and 3) it looks slick and conceals my receding hairline! I have a big head and very big hair and this thing holds it all together all day long without having to be adjusted or retied or anything. I've worn it every day for months and months and it's still in great shape. The price is a little high but I've found that it's absolutely worth it. I would recommend this for work, exercise, or honestly just for the looks. My only gripe is that I could live without the HALO logo on the front, but at this point I don't really mind representing the product since I do really like it.

I have a shaved head and wear it while working out doing cardio and weght lifting. It's a good quality material, feels good, and keeps the sweat out of my eyes. However, the "tail(s)" for snugging it onto your head are way too short. By the time you tie/snug it the tail(s) are only about two inches long, if that. So, snugging it down on your head isn't easy. The "tail(s)" need to be a few inches longer. Since I workout several times a week, it is an annoyance I can no longer overlook. As a result I am switching to another brand with longer tails. If the tail length is ever lengthened I would probably give it another chance.
