Radiused Biltong Slicer with Detachable Magnetic Tray

Love this biltong slicer. Very smooth action after having to cut my home made biltong by hand.

I was skeptical about spending this much on something so specific, thought about making my own out of a cheap cleaver and some cutting boards. But I am so glad I didn’t. This thing works great! The action is smooth and consistent, the blade has a single grind on it for precise cutting and all the materials used are great quality. The mechanical advantage it gives means you don’t have to be very strong to work it, you can cut through a whole slab in seconds without any strain. The quality all around is great but ESPECIALLY the hardware (where most companies go cheap). No weird/proprietary bolt heads or poor quality metals that will strip the first time you go to tighten it. The nuts that hold the blade to the board are actually ni-lock, so you won’t have things rattling or getting loose and dangerous as you cut. The only critique I have is that it doesn’t have a guide for the cuts. If you like paper thin biltong you may want a more traditional meat slicer where you could set the size and then cut the whole slab without re-setting. The cut on this is accurate enough that you can do it, you just have to take more time to line the biltong up for each slice.

I purchased this for cutting jerky after smoking and we love it! It's very well made, sturdy, doesn't slide around on the table, doesn't fall apart with use, very sharp knife and easy to clean. The rounded wooden base holds the jerky better than a flat base. I hand wash it and wouldn't recommend putting it into the dishwasher in order to extend its life. Will be buying another.

Excellent product , no problem

I was very hesitant to buy this given that I was looking to spend about 50$ but after using it to cut up 5Kg of biltong I can say that it was a money well spent and despite being a cheapskate I don't regret this purchase at all. Build quality is good, blade is very sharp and doesn't seem to dull at all.
