DW DWCP6000CX Single Bass Drum Pedal

This is a wonderful pedal and is quick and responsive and quiet, a necessity if you are recording. I am a drummer of 40 years with hundreds of gigs and many recordings. This pedal carries the tradition of the original Camco chain drive pedal, which I also have a few of, that DW build its business upon. I also have the more expensive DW 5000 which is essentially the same pedal but has a double chain on the sprocket for less lateral movement and a foot plate under the pedal. While the 5000 in some ways is easier to clamp to the bass drum hoop because of its remote tightening adjustment, the foot plate underneath the pedal gets in the way of t-rods on vintage drums. Further, the foot plate also has the tendency to bend permanently if used on an uneven floor, which makes for a clumsy connection and set up on a flat floor once its bent. The 6000's old school metal pedal assembly avoids both of these issues and comes in hand when playing on flimsy stages that are not necessarily flat.

Brilliant pedal, fast playing response. I would rate it higher than the DW 9000 single pedal with extended footboard series.Simple to adjust, physically light which helps to lighten the drum accessories road case.Highly recommend trying this pedal out.
