I bought this specifically to get a handle on the Japanese beetles tearing up my ornamental plants every summer. It definitely makes a noticeable difference, but it is important to have realistic expectations. This isn't a magic bullet that will completely wipe out every pest in your yard. You are still going to see some grubs and beetles around, but the overall numbers are way down compared to previous years. It keeps the population small enough that my plants can actually survive the season instead of getting completely skeletal. Worth using as part of your lawn routine, just don't expect a 100% bug-free yard.

I applied the 28.7-pound bag as directed, and the improvement was remarkable. My lawn had been full of patches, holes, and damage from moles, but it gradually became greener, healthier, and much more even. The damaged areas started to recover, and the constant signs of digging largely disappeared. I gave this 5 stars simply because it was received promptly and was as advertised but I haven't used it as my landscaper sprayed my lawn with something that was more appropriate for the grub damage. This is more appropriate for early treatment which I will do in the Spring in hopes I can eliminate these "grubbers" before they eat my Blue Star Creeper next year!

Well….i just found out i have a Japanese June Beetle infestation in the backyard of the home I just bought. Yikes! I wondered what was causing the dying grass in patches no matter how much I fed and watered my lawn. And I saw these big ugly beetles laying on my porch every morning. So I took a picture up to my local garden place and they strongly suggested I buy Scott’s GrubEX. I went to Amazon and bought a bag, got it the next day and applied it this afternoon. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it works fast. It says it will kill the grub in the ground, and well as the adult beetles. I used my Scott’s hand spreader, set it to 3.5 and walked all over my yard applying it. My grass is currently dry, but rain will be starting tonight. Perfect timing! It comes out smoothly and doesn’t clump in the spreader. There is very little odor, which I really appreciate, and it is a fine, light gray color. The directions says it will last about four months…all the way across the summer. This is awesome! I am very pleased that I found out about this Scott’s product and have Hugh hopes for getting rid of these darn, destructive beetles.

I live in coastal SC and a lot of the yards here have grubs. This year was particularly bad...at least for my yard. I applied this grub killer per the instructions and as it rained that night, it was well watered-in. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. When I checked the grass later that week, there were still grubs in the ground. I ended up having to hire Terminix to treat the yard to get rid of them. Others have reviewed it and said they had good results, but for me it was a no-go.
