The T27 is a revolutionary developmental achievement for TORC helmets. This new European inspired design takes the modular helmet to new places in both a pricing and overall footprint size. This helmet checks in at nearly 20 percent less physical size, than the model it replaces. Major advancements in EPS technology allow this helmet to be smaller and more compact, all the while offering every bit the protection as much larger and bulkier competitors. This helmet features significant intake venting and incredible Venturi venting for the rear exhaust. The slider based drop down visor mechanism is reminiscent of devices which cost 4 times the price. The latching system for the front chin bar features a one button release mechanism. The front bar is fastened by stainless steel posts and a metal on metal locking system. The head form fit is an intermediate oval. The shell and chin are made from a thermoplastic alloy. The liner is fully removable and machine washable. In addition to these features, this helmet comes fully equipped with improved Bluetooth 2.0 technology to insure compatibility with your Bluetooth enabled cell phone, android, or iPhone. With two built in speakers, up to 8 hours of continuous talk time and 150 hours of standby time, the T27B allows you to receive and send calls, listen to stereo music streaming from your MP3, phone, or XM radio, as well as listen clearly to GPS directions (Incoming cell calls automatically override other communications, but the new call reject feature can limit interruptions). Combine two or more BLINC enabled helmets, and enjoy communications from rider to passenger, and passenger to rider (intercom), or talk bike to bike (2-way communications within 100 feet). Other features include a noise cancelling microphone, full duplex communications with DSP Filter, Self-adjusting volume, glove friendly and waterproof controls. This new model is both ECE and DOT certified. Meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 218 Review: For the price, it's tough to beat! - I bought this helmet for the Bluetooth and because I already had another Torc 27 with BT and wanted to pair them together. The BT works well and I can hear most of my audio and GPS even at higher speeds assuming I am riding the motorcycle with a windscreen. If not, it gets iffy at about 60mph. With the windscreen, I hear it all up to 100mph, at about the same volume as lowering your windows in a car with your radio at a normal volume. You'll hear it but the details start getting a bit obscured. The controls for the audio operation take a quick second to figure out. For example, there are no Siri, Google or Alexa capabilities. To raise and lower the volume is easy - toggle forward or backwards with a tone to notify you that there is nowhere left to go. The skip tracks is the same as lowering and raising volume (back or forward turn of a dial), except one needs to hold the dial for a clear second or two in order to complete the operation. To skip 5 tracks will take about a clean 10 seconds, for example. I don't make calls while driving - EVER. Answering calls is easy, tap the side button. They can't really hear you if you're driving fast, especially without a windscreen. I also purchased a couple of visor replacements for this helmet. I bought the chrome and dark black visors and mainly ride with the chrome. I have received many compliments around town simply walking around stores and having people ask about my "Iron Man" helmet using the chrome visor, stating that they had seen me riding and thought I had the coolest looking helmet they'd ever seen. Once they find out it has BT and speakers, it's on. I may as well be a rep for Torc at that point. The helmet runs 2 sizes too small in my opinion. I first ordered this according to the sizing chart and had to return it. Takes 2 days to get to me but 9 days to get back and be refunded. That was a bit aggravating. That said, I have found and reviews confirm that their chart is off by a mile despite my measurements being spot on. The foam at my "correct" size was simply too hard against my cranium. I was a large according to their chart and really needed a XXL. They don't offer an XXL in this model that I am aware of, so I ordered the XL and it's passable but still a bit tight, especially on longer drives where I find the pressure against my forehead to be a bit too much. I suspect over time the foam will conform to my head a bit. The jury is still out on that... The helmet offers really decent airflow. There are two main vents and both offer great cooling, however, the more air in means the less you hear music. I have found that installing a volume booster on my device works to overcome this. The visor remains up while driving up to certain speeds and then will close on you due to air pressing it downward. That said, if you lift the face mask entirely, it stays up and is nice to have on really hot days in FL. or when you want to go into a store for a moment and not have to deal with taking off the helmet. I prefer not to walk into any store these days with a closed helmet where nobody sees my face. That said, it is also pretty decent at keeping air out if you need that feature for colder days. There is a nose shield and a chin shield that both serve to control air from entering the helmet on cold days. That is nice. Both are made of rubber and they simply plug in or get pulled out when not in use. Easy. There are a lot of helmets out there but I have found Torc to be a brand I like and the quality of the helmet is very good. I just wished they offered more visor options. This model was discontinued and the Torc 28B is what is sold now and offered in their newest catalog. The 28B is offered in XXL. Review: I bought for bluetooth, but fell in love with the helmet. Shocked by how good this helmet is. - I admit being skeptical before this helmet arrived. I've owned more than 30 helmets, ranging from high end japanese models to low end models from different companies. I didn't know an awful lot about Torc. I was looking for a bluetooth integrated modular helmet, and I found options limited. Now that I've received and worn this model, I'm floored by the price. This is one of the sleekest modular helmets I've ever seen. It has the aesthetics and shell profile that makes it resemble a Schuberth C3. Now I clearly understand this helmet is not a Schuberth, I was pleasantly surprise that for a plastic helmet how well it is made, and how sturdy it feels. One of my biggest complaints about affordable helmets is normally vents feel cheap. Normally cheap helmets rattle and feel flimsy and clunky. This helmet doesn't feel at all like that. All of the vents open and close snapping into position in a firm and exact way, like mid priced helmet should. I checked to see what this helmet sells for without bluetooth, and it can be found for $125. I can safely say that in my opinion, this is the nicest helmet I've seen at this price. I admit, I bought the thing because it has bluetooth, but I was shocked how nice the helmet really is. I've tried the vega summit and nolan bluetooth models and this helmet resembles more the nolan than it does the vega (even though it is priced lower than the vega). I used to own an oneal tirade bluetooth helmet, and I had a great experience with that helmet, so I gave this one a shot, since they both use the BLINC system. Although this model doesn't have the screen or fm tuner, it is louder, cleaner and I can hear phone calls much better than I could on the tirade. (Nice surprise) I was surprised how quiet this helmet is at speed. It is the lightest modular helmet I've owned, which is very surprising given the price. The most surprising feature that I fell in love with is the lever system for the drop down visor. SO many of these feel so cheap that it feels like most will break. This one doesn't have springs in it. It has a slider that is easy to find with my klim overland gloves. I liked it so much I'm tempted to buy their T14 with bluetooth. I would buy it again. The only thing I would suggest it does run big compared with my shoei. I really would recommend a medium instead of the large.

My 4th Torc helmet, Much lighter and still a great modular value
I have been using Torc helmets with and without Blinc systems for about 10 years. I keep trying to find something different, but I keep coming back. This helmet is a lot lighter and fits better than one I purchased about 3 years ago. The blinc bluetooth works fine for cell or helmet to helmet calls. I did have some trouble with charging the battery, but used the reset button a couple of times and now it charges just fine. I will continue to monitor. It is modular so I can flip up to grab a drink or talk to people. I use the tinted visor more than the wind screen, but I will use it more when it gets colder. Torc seems to have improved wind noise in this model, the prior had a lot of noise coming through the modular seams. I have a large fairing and windshield but I do notice the wind noise is decreased. It does not muffle much of the engine or traffic noise. Good helmet, I wish some of their more colorful models were the same price, but basic is fine.

Great buy, but has a MAJOR FLAW
After about a month of riding and wearing Pros -Bluetooth is pretty clear for the price, not perfect but it gets the job done I can hear music at 70+plus, not great, but it does work pretty well. Works great in cold weather since it has the chin guard on the bottom, probably to keep wind out for mic The sunshade is amazing, though not Yvan’s protectant it seems like, my eyes still hurt if in sunlight, seems like tiny vs polarization Cons (and these are rather large) First and foremost THE LENSE IS NOT SHATTERPROOF, I think this is a must for any motorcycle helmet, unless a replacement is available, I won’t be buying this for my wife. The anti fog tint is starting to peel after only a month (see pictures) The center of my forehead has a huge painful red spot after a few hours, design says long oval, but my head is not circular and this puts pressure points on my forehead as if it wear circular. Vents are pretty useless as far as I can tell, will update when 110 weather comes back Would give it a 5 star for the price and features, but the fact the visor isn’t shatterproof is a huge failure. Helmet bends pretty easy, makes me worry about impact resistance The modular part is somewhat difficult to close and locking both pins with one hand moves the helmet around too much, though the modular feature is really nice to use If you’ve got a windshield like I do, and aren’t concerned with perfect quality sound, this helmet is perfect for you. Hopefully I can find a shatterproof one for my wife.

Love it but it's not perfect.
Modular helmets are the best! I ride with an MC in Hawaii and helmets aren’t required here but my wife started riding with me and she wanted to wear a helmet so I thought that I’d get one also and both with Blutooth so we can talk on intercom along the way. I’m also a musician so having tunes had appeal. I wasn’t sure about sizing and I went to a local motorcycle shop and tried some on. It does vary between brands so I bought the TORC T27 in a large first. If it fit me, then I would buy a medium for my wife. If the large fit her, then I would buy an XL. My hat size is 7 1/4 and though the large fits me a little loose, it’s OK. I bought my wife a medium and I tried it on. It’s too tight on me but perfect for her. The intercom is useless at speeds above 50 MPH. Too much wind noise so you can’t understand nearly anything said. There’s also a VERY loud (non-adjustable) beep when calling the other person on the intercom. This same VERY loud beep happens when turning a helmet on or off. At lower speeds though, the intercom has proved to be a nice feature. I found the music quality poor and at higher speeds, like with the intercom, it was almost useless. I had paired it with a Motorola Moto X. I wasn’t happy at all with it. Not long after, I got a Samsung Galaxy and that made a huge difference. Volume is now loud enough even at high speeds and the sound quality went up too. The ventilation is good and you can even crack open the clear visor a little bit to add more air flow. My helmet will stay cracked open just a little but my wife’s won’t. Mine is a little hard to close that last little bit but my wife’s clear helmet visor snaps shut. Hers probably works the right way. We both like the internal tinted visor. Another review said that the mechanism was hard to operate but both my wife and I have no trouble with it. The chin strap is very thin and is easily twisted when putting the helmet on. Maybe it will get stiffer with age. The chin strap buckles tend to rotate out of proper position too. Both are something you learn to deal with but gets frustrating on occasion. I like the fact that the end of the chin strap has a snap so the tag end doesn’t beat your face in high cross winds. Two of the small snap-in pieces inside the helmet are easily knocked loose. There is a wind and bug piece that sites under your chin. Reach in to scratch an itch and it will most likely pop loose. Holding the helmet by the chin does the same thing. Also, when you’re getting use to finding the lever to open the modular part of the helmet, reaching back a little to far will also make the chin piece pop loose. There is also a rubber piece that covers your mouth and nose. Again, trying to scratch an itch will pop it loose. Battery life is good. It looks good. Weight is pretty light and overall, even though I pointed out some of the problems with the helmet, I like it and so does my wife. You will learn to work around the faults. Even if that means having to upgrade your phone to get more out of the sound system.

Returned, Felt Cheap and Flimsy in its General Operation
I returned the helmet because it felt cheap and flimsy in its general operation. When I opened modular face piece/chin guard, it would not stay up and open. Unless it was held up by a hand or you looked straight up so that gravity would pull the modular piece back, immediately fall back down, close and lock in place. The clear external visor/shield require two hands to lift, otherwise it would bind/twist when pushed up from one side with one hand. The internal sunvisor was clunky and loose. At times it would catch on the inner lip of the helmet when trying to put down. I only had the helmet on for a couple of minutes before putting it back in the box and sending it back. During that time I will say the helmet felt comfortable, except dead center and high on my forehead there was a pressure point. Who know if this would have broke in and become more comfortable over time. Additionally, because I did not wear the helmet for a ride, I cannot speak to the noise level from wind or allowing noise from my bike in. I suppose I should have left the helmet on for 10 additional minutes and taken my bike out for a short ride. Then I could have provided a more complete personal review of the helmet. Lastly, because of the short time this helmet spent out of the box, I cannot speak to the Bluetooth quality, functionality or ease of use. For what it's worth, I ordered an HJC IS-MAX ll as a replacement. Approximately the same price (within $20) but with no Bluetooth. We'll see how that helmet goes in a couple of days. I also ordered a Sena 20s-01D to fill the communications/Bluetooth gap. Much more costly, but now me, my wife and 6 others can communicate when on the road. Happy Riding!

Best one yet!
This is my fourth helmet since 2010. I had a Bell half helmet - cute, but not enough protection for my taste. I had TWO HJC's - GREAT quality, one was a 3/4 (my favorite for pure comfort), but I felt my chin was probably worth saving, too; and a full face - stylish and definitely sturdy/safe - but hard to get on/off, especially with my glasses, and it fit so that I could not smile. Try riding without smiling! This TORC is the perfect solution! Modular gives me easy on/off capability, even keeping my glasses (needed for driving) on. The extra retractable sunshield is fabulous and easy to use. The fit is GREAT; it breathes adequately, but could use a bit more ventilation. I haven't even used the blue-tooth yet. But I'm excited to have that feature built in - I DID get it synced up to my phone - just haven't practiced using it around the house yet. Not something I want to learn "on the fly". LOVE THIS HELMET!! Just wish it had the fancy purple paint job of my HJC...

Bluetooth adaptor inside helmet is cheaply made, broke in 2 days now I can’t use it.
So my review is based on out the package to wearing it for a week while riding. I had to order a brand new helmet because the one they sent to me the charger for Bluetooth inside the helmet already broke. I can’t even use the Bluetooth now because I cannot charge the helmet. Very poorly made, the device to accept the wall charge inside the helmet is located in a very awkward spot. Not easy to put a little micro usb charger into. Poor design on Torc. The speakers they install with the helmet are not very good either, sounds cheap. You cannot hear anything over 60mph. The helmet does lift up and have multiple options as far a air intake. It has a tinted visor installed inside which is nice. The helmet fits very comfortable on your head, the Bluetooth is easily accessible on the left side of your helmet but very hard to manage when your at high speeds. The helmet does cancel a lot of noise. It looks cool but the strap is annoying and the battery lasted up to 10 hours, but now I can’t charge it because the inside the helmet port for the charger got broke like second day I had it. Very poor design, very cheap.
