There are 2 types of carhartt t shirts 1 has thicker material than the other but saying that, both not see through. I hope that helps you.

Is the size chart wrong? Is cm and inches the wrong way round

Well, I always buy the medium size and my chest is certainly bigger than 15 inches :)
