WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS IF YOU'RE LOOKING TO EXPAND YOUR VOCABULARY AND/OR LEARN SOME NEW WORDS. THE DEFINITIONS ARE SHORT AND SWEET, WHICH MAKE UNDERSTANDING THE WORD EVEN EASIER. I ENJOYED IT! I ACTUALLY CARRY IT AROUND IN MY BRIEFCASE ALL THE TIME.

I thought I knew vocabulary, until started to go through this book. This is a lifetime resource for anyone who wants to develop a fuller reservoir of words. I am most surprised to see how many words I hear all the time, but never knew their meaning! I think people underestimate the role vocabulary plays in comprehension and speaking/writing prowess. Great book!

Like the words, however, I which there be more sentences examples.

I have read many books of this kind over the years, in preparation for certification exams, and to keep up with the Vocab, due to my line of work. Even though this one only gives the meaning of words without any examples, it is still extremely interesting: I can't put it down!! I also like very much the exercises at the back of the book, which is exactly what I needed for an upcoming exam. LOVE IT and RECOMMEND IT!!

We were hoping for less common, more challenging words but overall, a good resource .

It is a good book, with just enough number of words and level of difficulty, easy to use. Excellent for people who like to learn some new words after BS, it is more like GRE vocabulary and grad student level word book. Thanks
