Used it for the first time yesterday to change the oil in my Jetta TDi Sportwagen. Used the larger tube. Expected to have difficulty getting the tube all the way to the bottom of the oil pan from the reading I'd done, but it went without trouble, just one spot I had to twist the tube a bit to get it past, but when it bottomed in the pan there was no worry whether it was there or not, solid stop. Got 4 liters out, must have burned about half a liter in the 10,000 miles since the last change. Cleanup was super easy, I left the tubes assembled and standing vertical in the corner of the garage for a while as I finished putting the new oil and filter in the car, so there was no drip mess when I disassembled the tubes. Pouring from the extractor into the now empty bottles was clean and easy. The foot loop makes a great handle for good control while pouring.

Great tool. I used it on a mower with 'cold oil' and left it pulling the oil overnight but it pulled every bit of the oil was gone. Good stuff. I hesitated because of mixed reviews and because i mostly have gas tools i invested in this I now know that you can change the oil in whatever unit you have and you WON'T have excess oil left behind. It effectively cleans out the old oil. I had my doubts but after numerous I'm confident that the product effectively works well.

Where has this unit been all my life? Wow, talking about making oil changes easy and without any spills or mess ... I use this oil extractor and not only does it work well, but it prevents me from having to crawl under the car (or motorcycle) to remove the drain plug - and, you don't have to worry about stripping the drain plug or buying new drain plug gaskets. The only thing is, this unit is kind of slow. It takes about 20 minutes to extract 6.5 quarts of very warm oil. Very high quality build, too.

Arrived fast from Amazon. Used it today on a Jeep Cherokee Latitude and it worked stellar. No mess what so ever. The filter is on the top on the 3.2, so this change is a breeze with this rig. Also, very well constructed.

Used this one time to remove oil from my boat engine. Followed directions and kept container upright at all times. The next time I tried to use it, I could not push the handle down. It felt like it was pushing against air pressure trapped inside the container. Called the manufacturer and they claimed an "O" ring went bad. I ordered one, VERY expensive and the shipping was twice the cost of the "O" because they have a crazy shipping policy that the shipping must be insureed. So, I install the "O" and the unit works perfectly again. Next season its it time to change the oil again and the SAME issue. Cannot push handle down against air pressure. This thing is JUNK. Very poor design.

The Pela 650 oil extractor I purchased has a vacuum leak where the hose plugs into the extractor top. Also, it took over 100 pumps to remove 5 quarts of oil from my engine.

Ok so today I used it and it works great! It seems like it will last awhile. It's simple to use. Just heat your engine oil up and suck it out using the dip stick. It comes in a box with no instructions but it's super easy to use, it's pretty much plug and play. Comes with 3 tubes. 1st tube is the main tube that connects to the pump 2nd tube is what connects to the main tube to extend and go into the dip stick. 3rd tube is a smaller tube in diameter for smaller dip stick holes It has a folding ring at the bottom of the extractor so you can step on it to pump, like a bicycle tire pump. The rings on the sides measure each QT so for example in their picture that would be about 1 3/4 quarts of oil they extracted. You pump it about 15-20 times and let it do its thing. It takes about 20 mins or so to remove 6 qts so do it first and then move on to something else. When done pull the tube out of the spout and then pour used oil into containers or do what I did and just take it right to the auto parts store to recycle. Now hears the bad part. The base needs to be wider. Today I had a disaster as it fell over and oil went everywhere! Do yourself a favor and put it into a bigger plastic or rubber bin so this doesn't happen to you!! Other than that I hope they design it with a wider base in the future as it gets top heavy once filled with oil. I would recommend this product! I use it for my boat

I have used it once so far to remove the oil from my boat. It worked excellent. It will take some time as oil is a little thick to syphon. Just pump it and walk away.

Works exactly as described - easiest way for an oil change, no crawling under the car... Follow manufacturers' instructions.
