Great size and quality product
Wanted to move away from plastics and this wooden ladle is fantastic.

Great Ladle
Bought this at Xmas and find it is much better than using the normal ladles you can purchase. The smooth wooden surface it great for stirring and ladling anything being cooked (or heated) in a non-stick pan. Not the largest of ladles, but something you would be proud to accompany any central food dish and allow diners to serve themselves. Cleans easily.

Not food safe. Smells of chemical varnish
Unfortunately, this spoon is not suitable for cooking or food contact. It has a strong chemical varnish smell and is coated with a thin layer of clear synthetic lacquer, likely acrylic-based or polyurethane. The coating appears to have been applied via spray or dip, but not inside the drilled hole, which is a common shortcut in mass manufacturing. You can see the pale raw wood inside. This kind of finish is not food safe, especially when exposed to heat or acidic ingredients. It might be okay for decorative use or scooping dry goods, but I wouldn’t trust it for actual cooking. As another reviewer mentioned, the finish leaves something to be desired. See my photos for reference. On the plus side, the shape is great and the size is accurate. With slightly more care in the finishing (with natural urushi lacquer derived from the sap of the Toxicodendron vernicifluum tree) and a price closer to £5 or below, this could have been a 5 out of 5 star product. At its current price, it feels overpriced. I wouldn’t pay more than £0.99 and wouldn't use it for cooking.
