This is a great set for wire work! A nice selection of sizes to work with and sturdy.

I'm getting into wire jewelry making and this little set is exactly what I was looking for. It has all the sizes I need, and they are organized in the pounch and labeled. With the velcro, you can fold the case inside out to easily organize and access the mandrels, and then fold it rightside in to safely store them. They are smooth, well cut, and I'm excited to use them in my work.

I was looking for a mandrel set to help roll some of the metal pieces in my metal models (such as with The Mandalorian’s legs and arms pieces, among others). In my opinion, these wooden dowels are perfect! I can get a perfect roll every time, though I still have to use my smaller metal mandrels for the tiny little metal pieces that need to be rolled. These wooden mandrels are better than my metal mandrels in many ways; one way is that the wood is much more “grippy”. The metal mandrels are really smooth, and they slide around in my fingers, which sometimes makes it difficult to keep the metal pieces on the mandrel as I try to roll a model piece around it. With the wooden mandrels, this is no longer an issue for me. Plus, these mandrels are much longer, giving me plenty of room to hold the mandrel as I use them. Overall, I am very happy with this set of wooden mandrels. Inexpensive, and very useful!

These are very nice. They make very uniform spirals. The case to hold the mandrels in is very handy. Good product!

I like the various shapes and sizes provided. The only drawback is the storage case. It was not obvious in the listing photo that the case does not close on all sides. It awkwardly folds over on itself and uses velcro-type closure along one long edge. (The velcro is strong - in fact, it is almost hard to get open.) This leaves the top and bottom open. The dowels are held inside this "case" with elastic strips, but one of the strips is so loose it will not hold the dowel. Every time I pick up the case, and struggle to separate the velcro, the dowel slips out. Case design could be a bit more thought-out. I would have given these 5-stars if not for the case, which almost seems like an afterthought.

Not sure why this cost so much but it is useful.

I am not a jewelry maker, I'm a sculptural needle felt artist, and I LOVE this dowel set! I received them very quickly (two days), which was terrific because I was horribly impatient to try using them for my needle felting. I bought them to replace some rolled paper lollipop and candy sticks, because I wanted more permanent sticks. And when I found these, I thought they might be the solution. And, other than needing to wipe some dust off, they were ready to use immediately, and absolutely perfect for my needs! Super smooth, so they don't snag the wool fiber when I wind it around the dowels, and the 5-1/2" (or so) length works well for the size of things I make. The variety of thicknesses gives me nearly unlimited options! I was going to by individual dowels, cut them to length, sand them and use them, but why? Once I found this set, I was very excited, and the carrying case means I can keep them handy and protected all in one convenient place, tucked into my supply bag. I couldn't be happier with them!

I had never seen this product before, but it is perfect for jewelry making and designing. I can not wait to use the Dowel set when I need curtain size circles, in my design.I can see were I am going to have a lot of fun with them.
