Worked very well on my 11 year old Ashley Furniture couch that my 9 year old son likes to jump on. It comes coiled and has a lot of potential energy so be very very careful when unraveling it as it really wants to uncoil with a lot of force and potentially take your eye out. There are instructions and a warning on the coil because of this. We just have basic tools so what we did was use a wire cutter to cut the paper around the wire and add some weakness to the wire, then we bent it and it easily snapped into 2. You need some muscle to use the wire cutters to create weakness. The most time consuming thing for us was the clips. It took me an hour to remove all of the old clips. I used some pliers and I got blisters on my hands from all the repetitive pressure and twisting (I'd recommend wearing this gloves to help prevent some of this). It was very time consuming and difficult to do. So if there is some tool available for this purpose, I'd say it's worth the money to get it. My husband put the new clips on (since my hands were sore and had blisters) and that also took him an hour to do so with a set of pliers. So I'd say getting a crimping tool might be worth it. We ended up replacing both stable rod/wire things as they were both broken (from old age or my kid jumping on the couch or both). The excess rod left over, we secured to the bottom of the couch for storage and potential use later on. So it was very time consuming and difficult but not impossible but the product seems good quality so I'm giving 5 stars.

This product worked perfectly! I fixed my two regular size 3-seat couches. Some parts of the wires were broken, so I fixed those first and also added a whole new line of wire in between the existing ones to reinforce the springs. This is enough for approximately 2 lengths of 2 couches (4 lengths total). As far as attaching the wire to couch springs, it is very easy, but the right tools definitely help. I highly recommend the ones in my photo. I know they sell the specific crimping tool, but I didn’t want to spend so much money on something I’ll use once. Luckily, my husband had these old ones in the tool box. I do recommend both, if you have them. That’s because those rounded pliers crimp it correctly first (I do center piece first to secure, then both sides), and the other metal thingy, tightens it all the way. You can just use one, though, just make sure to tighten the crimps all the way. Anyway, I highly recommend this product, it was the same look and gauge as the ones already inside the couch.

Reenforced a 70 year old bench seat and it is now as strong as it was when it came from the factory. Good for at least 50 more years!

Great product This was a great diy product and I was easily able to get my couch back to being comfortable. The old stay wire had broken in 2 places, and adding this new one was an inexpensive way of extending its life. There only reason I’m not giving it a 5 is that the “instructions” were so minimal that i had to search you tube for real instructions. Otherwise a great product at a good price.

Exactly what I needed to perform my couch cushion repairs. Easy to use, easy to install once I had all the proper tools on hand. I recommend this product for DIY projects, just make sure you have all the right tools (bolt cutters or heavy duty wire cutters recommended) for the job.

What was easy to install. It was bendable enough that I could do it myself. I had no problems and i'm just an old woman.

I was impressed when I found this kit to repair broken stays in a couch I was re-upholstering. Very reasonably priced, arrived quickly and since I removed the original clips and broken stays it was a piece of cake to reapply the new ones. I used two pairs of pliers to twist the metal clips, had three rows of stays on the couch in an hour and now my couch has all the support it needs and the nasty squeaks are gone. Other spring kits are available, it's nice to know these are out there. Thanks for being here!

Easy to use and did the right thing

This was exactly what I needed but I had to google installation of it because the instructions were so rudimentary it was useless. Would have gotten 5 stars if instructions were better.
