No More Windshields Slicked with Bird Poop
Unfortunately, our inspection period of our new house did not include time to observe the robins and their propensity to blanket outside cars with their poop. I'd wash the cars and would hear them in the trees, angrily reprimanding me for disturbing them. Minutes afterwards, I'd look out the window to find 5-6 of these scoundrels happily defecating on the car from nose to tail - almost as if it were an intent to spread poop equally across the entire automobile. "Leave no panel unspoiled" seemed to be their motto. I purchased 2 of these deterrents and they were delivered quickly. As I was positioning it, a robin was sitting on our adjacent car, apparently scoffing at my efforts. I turned it up to 5, and he let out an alarmed squawk; they've never been seen since. No more morning crap parties, no robins eying me through the window of my office, and then turning around and dropping a deuce on the windshield. NOTES: It initially creates a very unsettling high-pitched sound, and then goes into silent mode until the motion sensor detects movement. It's quite sturdy and can be left out in 20 degree temps. The solar panel seems to work well. I've only tested this for birds.

One out of two works perfectly . . . update after six months of use
March 2022-- the first unit worked perfectly as intended. It worked so well, I ordered a second izbie Z1. The second unit did not perform as well as the first. The motion detector sensitivity switch of the second unit did not work to allow any motion sensitivity adjustment. The first unit motion detector set-off the sound and flashing lights from more than 45 feet away and at an angle of at least 75 degrees. . . wow! At the extreme sensitivity setting of the second unit, I had to walk to within five feet and not more than a 30 degree angle for the sound and flashing lights to work. hmm? The sonic repellent on both the izbie Z1 first and second units are much more noticeable than the sonic repellent on devices from other brands I have installed surrounding my property on similar/identical settings. Of the four different brands I have installed, three are pretty much identical in appearance and structure. As with other brands, I expect the rechargeable batteries will need to be replaced within two years. August 2022--downgraded from four to one star. Worked well at first but . . . after six months of use, both izbie units are not working! I have others that are still working after nearly two years! The rechargeable batteries on my units had low capacity cheap batteries which needed replacement within two months. Worked well for another three months after installing better quality rechargeable batteries. Now the izbies are completely useless.

It needs more than 2 to deter the animals
I purchased 3 of the same Izbie Z1 Ultrasonic Rodent, Squirrel, Cat, Repellent - Waterproof Effective Outdoor Electronic Deterrent for my yard. I had a new raised bed and garden which was becoming a litter box for all the Feral cats in my neighborhood. I planted 2 in the back yard and it started working that night. In the front yard, the cats still are using the yard, lawn etc. So now, I cleaned up the yard, sprinkled, cat repellent, chillie flakes, and have added the izbie Z1 Ultrasonic machine. It still did not work. My lawn had poop and the flower bed still had cat poop. It looks like we will need 2-3 to protect our yard. For now, I have to live with the one 1 have a buy later another 1-2.

Wrok as a mid term solution
This product seems to be good, but for some reason, at the beginning, the birds resist the sounds. First days I was frustrated to see how the same birds arrive and arrive and resist but after 2-3 weeks seems that birds' visits decrease. I'm adding 4 out of 5 because the result is not immediate but overall is a good product that can save you a lot at this price

Irresponsible Dog Owner's bane.
They seem to work wonderfully. I've not stepped into the doggy doo of someone else's dog for some time. I've tried leaving out stinky garlic sausages for the errant dog to eat and fart out at home, but that only worked for a short while. But this? I've not had a problem for over a week. The longest ever. They're not just for dogs, but other wildlife as well. I tried the mulit-mode, and more dog doo showed up. But since I switched it to the 'dog-channel', I've not had a problem since. If I do get more doggy doo, i'll buy some more/amp up the volume (currently at 1/4). They're rechargeable, and solar-powered. My wife lets me know if they're working (She can hear bats chattering). But my hearing is shot, I can't hear it. Hell, I may get some more anyways, just for some inaudible warfare for the neighbor dogs that LOVE to bark at anything that moves nearby. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

This Animal Repeller Worked Exceptionally Well: For Only 24 Days
I really don't like cats. And I am not just referring to the musical. Cats are dirty. They smell. They get into everything. They make horrid noises that wake me up in the middle of the night. They leave piles of smelly kittens under my stairs. Our neighborhood has feral cats. Lots of them. Mangy, smelly, loud, feral cats. They get into everything. They dig up my lawn. They shed hair and leave their scent as they try to mark their territory. My kids couldn't go into the backyard without first having to battle for domination. I really don't like cats. I have tried everything to get rid of them. Animal Control for my local city refused to touch them. Cat repellent powder must be re-applied every time it rains. And it is hard to train squirrels as an elite paramilitary anti-cat ninja team. So I turned to Amazon and found this Electronic Animal Repeller. AND, after finding the right frequency, the cats were GONE. It was wonderful. The birds, squirrels, 'possums, raccoons, armadillos, hedgehogs, and cows are also gone, but I digress. No cats. Anywhere. Gone. I wept for joy. Unfortunately, my kids wouldn't go into the backyard anymore. They kept complaining about some high-pitched screeching sound that made them want to run away. I could hear it too, but only when I was standing in the "blast zone". And more importantly, the cats were GONE. But alas, the victory was short lived. One lovely fall morning, 24 days after installation, my beautiful Wife looked out the back window and said, "There is a cat under the trampoline". I started weeping again, but this time it wasn't for joy. I went out to check the Animal Repeller. It was turned on. But there was no sound. And the cats are back.

Item stopped working only after less than a month of use and beyond my return window!!!!!
We have either a squirrel or mouse problem of chewing through the gas lines on our cars in the driveway. I cannot testify whether this device will scare them away but I can say it does what it says it will do. The manual that comes in the box does not read correctly. It reads... "if adapter is unplugged, the item will keep working, the PIR sensor will not work". When I read this my thought was what good is the solar charge if it needs to be plugged in for the PIR (infrared sensor) to work? Their customer service said it would still work. Being confused and not knowing which was correct I ran my own experiment. First the unit seemed to work whenever I walked by it but I wanted to be sure. Standing inside my garage, where the unit could not sense me, I rolled a 16.9oz. bottle filled with cold/room temperature water out of the garage and past the unit. The unit did not sound the alarm or flash the light. Next I rolled a 16.9oz bottle filled with hot water out of the garage and past the unit. The unit sounded the alarm and flashed the light. Both experiments were conducted while the unit was unplugged. I repeated this several times and it passed each time. I haven't tested a small 1-2oz bottle with hot water. This would represent the size of a mouse and therefore test how sensitive the unit is to a small heat signature. Overall though I have to say my experience is that is does what it claims it will do. I am probably going to buy a second one for the other side of the driveway in front of my garage.

Boy was I wrong! This is an excellent product.
My initial review title was "Apparently, this thing is an empty box." So, my new one is "Boy was I wrong." Our dog is old and pretty much stopped protecting my wife's gardens last fall and she died this spring. So, I bought this thing to take a little of the deer-and-rabbit duty off of her shoulders (the dog, not my wife). The location was perfect, according to the device instructions, but even the light and sound setting seemed to do pretty much nothing even when I am the varmint stomping around in front of the sensor. However, four months later and 75'x 40' of the garden is untouched by deer, rabbits, or other varmints. I'm buying another for the other half of the backyard. It clearly works. I do see the flash working occasionally, but I think the sonic signal might be the real trick to this great product.
