Easy to use
I am a beginner. This saw is about as easy to use as a scroll saw. I am cutting glass for mosaic and using a Dremel to polish irregular edges (likely due to my inexperience). So far, I love this saw!

It cuts
I have a Taurus ring saw that is staring to show it's age. I bought this Gryphon (not from Amazon) as replacement. What a disappointment. It is not a capable. The blade is wider than on the ring saw and works best in a straight on cut. The blade is round and technically you can cut in any direction, but that makes more wear on the plastic blade guide; once it's worn you can't cut a straight line. Glade guides are $10 a piece; blades are $10 a piece pretty much also, and seem to wear out rather quickly and are prone to rust. It seems the only way to avoid the wear on the guide is to cut very slowly with almost no pressure on the blade. If you're cutting a piece of glass, it should be within the dimension of their drainage area, about 8x8", or you will have water everywhere. It also requires a gallon of water in the tank for the pump to work. It's actuated by the motion of the blade. The finger guard is in the way of where you need to see to cut. IT IS ALSO VERY LOUD -- so plan on wearing good hearing protection. The only positive I can find is that it does cut glass.

missing parts + blades rusted
I was excited to try this device, but a little disappointed to find missing parts (one short nylon bolt) + blades rusted with the package open. It does work well however; but clearly you quality control is lacking. Tom Foster

Extremely loud!
This machine is extremely loud! It’s almost like you need to have a shed to work in or else you’re going to drive your family nuts!

Very Disappointed
I have had the Taurus 2 Ring saw and the parts were becoming difficult to locate, so I thought I was upgrading. WRONG! This saw throws water everywhere. You can't see the design on the glass because of the water and it makes an entire mess of the work surface. The parts of made of plastic and wear out easily, plus the blades don't last very long at all. The blades may be cheaper, but not worth it.2 Stars, because Customer Service from Gryphon was very good. He did say do your research before buying a wire saw if you had a ring saw. Wish someone had told me that before I wasted this money.🥲🥲🥲

Great for making difficult cuts from my Stained Glass projects

unable too see lines to cut
The Gryphon Omni -2 water pump pumps too much water, too fast. It is nearly impossible to see where you are cutting. I am keeping the wire saw but do not anticipate using very often.

Expensive toy for light duty work. However, I haven't found anything else in this price range that will work cutting agate or jade.
