I’m a cosmetologist that worked for Aveda for 16 years... this product is is one tiny notch shy from being exactly like Shampure. But that’s it! This is pretty much it! I’ll order this again. If you’re looking for the discontinued #6 (which was never sold to public but was back bar use) then you should be happy with this.

I tried a few drops in a diffuser and didn't think it smelled like Shampure. Although the key notes seem to be there, there is still something missing. It's not what I am looking for.

If you’re coming on here because you are deeply passionate about the aveda#6/shampure aroma and are desperate to find a dupe, then I’m here to help. I, like many, have been obsessed with shampure since somewhere in the mid to late 90’s and wanted to replicate the smell to fill my house with my diffuser. Pinterest recipes that claim to be the perfect dupe are never even close to the real deal. So before purchasing This product, I too looked at all these reviews and decided to take the chance. RESULTS; It’s definitely similar. But i can’t give a stronger word than that. It’s not a dupe. It’s reminiscent of the original for sure. You will catch waves of it but overall it has something added that doesn’t belong. Some said baby oil, some said cleaning products. I say citronella. If smellls like aveda made a citronella candle. My son thinks it smells like scented trash bags. I will continue to use the bottle but won’t buy again.

I make soap and beauty products, I have always loved the signature smell aveda has and have been looking for a dupe, as I have failed making one of my own with essential oils. THIS SMELLS LIKE THE REAL DEAL! My only regret is not buying the big size, I will reorder it with out doubt! I opened it up and hoped for the best, the first smell right out of the bottle was right on. Shipping was pretty quick, about a week and everything was wrapped up tight, no leaks and I couldn't smell the oil on the outside of the bottle. Do not hesitate in buying this because you think it will not really smell like Shampure, it does!

Although I wouldn't say this is an exact match, it's a fine dupe. I got the smaller size and I'm glad I did as a little goes a long way. I added to my existing shampoo and conditioner and body wash and it has a pleasant if soapy(?) scent that isn't overpowering.

This product smells EXACTLY like Aveda Shampure scent. SPOT ON. I have worked with and used aveda products for over a decade. This is it! The trick is to dilute this oil with either water, in a diffuser, or in a misting bottle for a spray, or add it to a carrier oil with no scent. If you try to apply this oil without diluting, you will not experience the scent properly. So for all those reviewing this product negatively, give it another try using it in diluted form. I will be ordering this product in the largest size today! Great job recreating this amazing scent!!

You nailed the scent! But, unfortunately, the scent doesn't last on skin.

I may have died and gone to heaven… this smells just like the real deal and now I can make anything I want smell like a spa I truly cannot believe that somebody made this product because I had been wishing for a long time that there was something that smelled like Shampure that I could use to scent anything. I make a lot of my own personal care products and I like to diffuse oils so now my house is going to smell like a spa. I’m so excited!
