I now cut my own hair as many times as I want for the cost of one barber shop visit. There are a lot of great YouTube videos to watch before turning it on. Let the star ratings on older postings be your filter. Read the Wahl directions and follow them, this is a good, old brand. Their info keeps you looking good and the machine working for a long time, perhaps your lifetime. Finding a nice zipper bank bag for storage is next for me. The box and foam bag are not for a lifetime of use. Cutting your hair over your bathroom sink with the plunger down and your shirt off is where you start. Makes clean up a simple wipe down after with a damp Kleenex. You are going to leave a lot of hair over a lifetime. Develop some habits to keep it contained and out of your plumbing. It is not a hairstylist's machine. You get a clean short haircut that fades to nothing at the bottom. I use the various combs overlapping from smallest (1/4") to largest (1") and get a decent short haircut that stands up straight. The 1/8" does the clean-up work on neck, bottom edges, etc. The cut looks simple but professional and consistency makes you elegant. I am doing this weekly now. It takes some practice to learn how to use the combs correctly and to learn your crown and natural hair layout must be dealt with. You do the same areas from different directions to get a uniform trim. I would have a handheld beauty mirror (one side magnified for detail) to look at the back of your head. You will see where you need multiple passes. Since my crown looks like a nuclear attack in a tornado it took a few cuts to get learn it. Family and friends have given me real compliments after looking it over. "Wow. You really did that?" "Clean looking." "Nice. Really nice." "Oh, maintaining that cut becomes you."

I would of given these clippers a 5 star but it doesn’t clip my beard as close to the skin as my older clippers which is the same exact clippers. I don’t know what changed. But don’t let that prevent you from buying them because I was a licensed barber and these are great for the price and work very nicely.

Exactly what we'd been looking for; I don't think I'll bother with the more expensive color-coded Wahl clipper kit now that it's available, as this gets the job done for much less. The kit includes everything needed (except the ear tapers, which aren't really necessary if you watch a few YouTube videos) and the instruction pamphlet was particularly useful. I did my own hair and then my husband's and both came out better than expected. This clipper is easy to use and care for and it turns out you don't need the bells & whistles if you go with a reputable manufacturer.

Perfect tool for cutting the hubs and older son's hair. Works great. Cord could be longer, but that's what extension cords are for. It does vibrate a lot in your hand, so if you're doing a whole bunch of haircuts, it could be a bit tiring on your hand. But the clippers work great, no pulling of the hair. Comes with lots of attachments and a box. You'll need to hang onto the box to keep the attachments all in one place with the clipper. Purchased for the price of a single barbershop visit, and it will last a long time. Made by Wahl, this is only the third Wahl clipper I have needed to purchase in 50 YEARS! It was pulling my hair and not working well even after I oiled it. The blades need to be adjusted as shown in the manual when you get it if you do this it will work but it still vibrates a lot.

Bought this due to the pandemic confinement. My hair was getting way too long so I ordered this one due to the great reviews. It was easy to use and the combs provided almost did the trick but doe not include all the numbers I needed. It did not include the 4 comb attachment which my barber normally uses when cutting my hair. But I easily found it and ordered it. The clipper are a low volume so it does not bother you when using. I now use these until I can get to my barber which is less frequent during these times. I would highly recommend buying this.

With the COVID pandemic ongoing, I decided to start cutting my hair at home. This haircutting set was one of the more affordable options I found, so tried it out. It arrived in just a few days and does a pretty good job cutting hair. It does take a number of passes to get all the hair, though. I do plan to keep using this trimmer after COVID. I would recommend this to others that want an affordable option for their home haircutting needs.

Bought this during the Pandemic since we were all in need of a haircut at some point. I could not find any of these near me since all the stores sold out of this item. I was fortunate to find one of these on Amazon. I don’t recommend hair cutting for every one but I watched a few You Tube videos on how to use this kit and to my surprise my first at home haircut came out pretty good. It took a lot of patience to perform trimming hair on one self but with an additional mirror it all went well. The product was priced a little high, almost double the price but it all goes back to supply and demand.
