No more ringing ears. THESE ARE A MUST!!!
I use these several times a week, mowing the lawn, trimming, on flights, at concerts, with the angle grinder, SDS hammer drill, you name it. Pretty much any time I know it's going to be loud, these go in first. That versatility alone makes them worth having around the house. Fit is comfortable and they stay in place no matter what I'm doing, no constant readjusting or worrying about them falling out. The sound reduction is noticeable too, things still sound natural, just quieter, which is exactly what you want from a high fidelity earplug instead of that muffled, underwater feeling cheaper ones give you. You can still hold a normal conversation with them in, which is a nice bonus when you're at a concert or around people and don't want to feel completely cut off. The real win for me is no more ringing in my ears at night after yard work, something that used to happen constantly before I started using these. They're easy to clean, reusable, and the small size means they're barely noticeable once they're in. The carrying case is compact too, easy to keep on me without being a hassle, and great value when you consider how often I reach for these. Genuinely a must have if you're regularly around loud equipment, flights, or concerts. Highly recommend.

These earplugs provide excellent noise reduction while preserving sound clarity, making them ideal for concerts, rehearsals, or any loud environment. The ER20XS design ensures a comfortable fit for extended wear without muffling music or conversation. The build quality is solid, and they’re easy to insert and remove. They come with a convenient carrying case, perfect for on-the-go protection. Overall, a high-quality, effective, and comfortable solution for ear protection. Highly recommended for musicians, concert-goers, or anyone exposed to loud sounds.

Must Have, a bit long
I don't know how I ever survived concerts without these! I got these in anticipation for a 4-day rock festival, and the difference they made was HUGE! I didn't use the neck-strap; my review is about the plugs themselves only. Pros: * Clear sound * Filters noise / reverb / crowd - The best I can describe this is to compare it to when a car stereo is too loud and as a result the end of the sounds are "clipping" with a bit of fizz. Live shows suffer this problem, too, and these earbuds really filter that out. I can hear the vocalist so much better and it tunes out the sounds of the immediate surrounding crowd, to, so no more ear bleeds from that girl with the high pitched fangirl shriek. * Felt like the vocals were crisper and easier to hear (Vocals always sound overshadowed at live shows for me) * Still can converse with those around me * Snug fit; I don't worry about them falling out. Cons (User error?): * The pegs are a bit long, and I feel like sometimes if I push them in so that I don't feel them slipping, it hurts. * When I'm eating they start to push out, which is a ticklish sensation (Could be I've got them too far in my ears to start with) * Until I got used to them, they left my ears a little raw (After 8+ hours of wear though this is probably expected for baby's first concert earplugs) * Not the most pleasant to remove; you really want to make sure you get that twist going and you pull slowly; sometimes one of the flaps starts to bed backwards and creates a catching sensation; seems to only be a problem with prolonged (4+ hours) wear.

Excellent hearing protection while still hearing sound you want
I use these for concerts and put them in before it starts, and leave them in until it’s over and these are great. They prevent tinnitus or any kind of hearing issue after the concert is over, you were fully protected. You can still hear the concert perfectly and even better they drown out your concert neighbor’s screams and singing. When the people around you talk during the show it’s hard to hear them but you can make out what they say if you want to. And the concert has quite good sound. I wore them to a rock concert that was shaking the brick building and sidewalk outside during sound check and after the concert was over my ears were perfect. I enjoyed the show with no discomfort and happy with the sound and even talked to the band during (and heard their reply to me, the guitarist came out into the crowd). Very nice! Only thing is, they do hurt while they are in. It goes away as soon as you take them out, I am playing with adjusting them better but I think it’s just the design and hardness of the base plastic. It’s not a huge deal, they do feel like they go in kind of deep. I will always keep these on hand for concerts and replace them often. Love them. Absolutely better than foam ones for concerts but my daughter finds them uncomfortable enough that she prefers foam, she has had a ruptured ear drum and is always sensitive about her ears. She claims her cheap foam ones give the same result for her, but I use both and think these are way better if you can tolerate the feel of them. I personally love these.

Decent
Imo these are comfortable to wear for hours on end: I do a few times a week. They are relatively easy to put in and take out, even while wearing thin gloves. I've never had one fall out. Make sure the seal properly in the ear canal, i have to tilt my head away, open my mouth, and give it a little twist. First pair I had the largest silicon tips both ripped apart after a few months. Keep in mind this was heavy daily use (manufacturing engineer that spends a lot of time on the shop floor). They were exposed to heat, dirt, grease, you name it. Fwiw they held up pretty well. On the noisy shop floor I can't tell how loud I am speaking while wearing them. Apparently I sound much louder in my head than I do to others: be aware of this. The second pair I had met their gruesome end when the cord got wrapped around it and pulled so tightly that it severed the plastic in half. That one was my fault. Noise reduction is good overall. These will help prevent ringing in your ears. In terms of music be aware it does color the sound quite a lot. The highs are basically gone. Mids are where these shine: they're present just lessened, this seems to be what they were aiming for. Bass is brought forward and at times is dangerously close to a hollow-booming-tunnel type sound that is not pleasant. The mids and lows of vocals are brought out but seem... different. Again the vocal highs are just gone. Also note that hi-hats are nearly muted. Bottom line, these are decent for saving your hearing. They're comfortable enough to wear for hours (ymmv as ears do). Very colored sound, no highs.

Excellent Frequency Response and Volume Reduction
Let me start off by saying reducing volume evenly across the entire audible spectrum would cost thousands of dollars. Systems that use microphones, mechanisms to detect and attenuate sounds above a certain threshhold, and in-ear amplification, will come the closest, but they are in a much higher price bracket. This review compares these Etymotics with tech of comparable cost. Specifically, I have used normal earplugs, Hearos plugs from the late 1990’s, normal over-ear hearing protection, and over-ear hearing protection with a microphone/volume control set-up. These all range from a few dollars to about $60. These products are all effective in reducing volume of very loud sounds to safer levels. The problem is that they reduce the sound very unevenly. All of them either kill the treble response, or make the bass response very muddy, or both. The over-ear with mic/volume has a delay between detection of the loud sound, and reproduction of the sound into the ear, so the resulting sound is unnatural and “out-of-synch.” The Etymotics provide by far the most even reduction in sound across all frequencies. They preserve really nice clarity of the treble, and the bass frequencies do not get muddy. There is a “scooped” sound, i.e. the midrange frequencies are reduced more than the treble. That being said, the overall balance between all frequencies is very pleasing to the ear, especially compared to the other products. And in terms of reducing sound to safe levels, they are very effective. I purchased them because I practice piano in a fairly bright room, and was getting ringing in my ears after practice sessions; the ringing completely went away after I started using the Etymotics. I would highly recommend them for music practice.

Sharp piece cut my ear canal!
So I have two problems with this. My husband prefers this brand or at least he did. He couldn't find his old pair so he asked for a new one. I was trying out a bunch of ear plugs for the k-pop concerts we're going to with my teen. I used to sing and have some hearing damage and tinnitus from not wearing protection and an ear infection many years ago that ruptured one of my ear drums. At this point, I'm looking to live with at least less EEEEeeeeeeeeee than I already have. I do have a older hearing aid for that side that ruptured but I rarely use it every day unless I'm in a loud busy place (I'd never use it for a concert because there are things I need to hear (my kiddo) but a busy city restaurant or Disney World? Then I do but only if I need to because I hate it.). It’s uncomfortable to wear for a long time and I should probably get a new one fitted. I've become pretty good though at discerning how effective a hearing blocker for my “good” ear is (and yeah, I should probably just get this all custom made for my ears, but this is quite expensive and time consuming so I just haven’t). First there was a sharp piece on one side and it cut my ear canal. The item was clear-ish so I didn’t see this little sharp edge until I was cut and the inside of my ear was bleeding. Yikes. Second there is no way this at its highest levels cut 20 dcb let alone 16. It’s more around ten. Putting your hands over your ears would be more effective than this. I could clearly hear our heater kicking on, the tv next door and my kid’s music through her headphones. It’s also quite long for a woman’s ear canal which makes it uncomfortable. This is not safe enough for a concert between the crowd cheering and the music. Maybe these were more effective and better made years ago? But the ones we received were terrible.

Buy them!
Highly recommend for anyone who goes to concerts or is in loud places in general. I bought these for concerts, but I also use them when I ride the train on weekdays. Standing relatively close to a small venues sound system was perfectly fine with these on. No impact to my hearing nor was there any ringing afterward. Im still able to hear regular conversations with these on, though obviously slightly dampened.

Motorcyclist Approved!
I purchased these ear plugs along with the Ear Peace high fidelity hearing protection plugs. I ride a naked style motorcycle and experience excessive wind noise every day. (Despite what they say, all helmets are subject to excessive wind noise at highway speeds, just to different degrees based on design.) First off, these ear plugs look cool. Doesn't really matter in my ear, or under my helmet, but when I have them hanging over my jacket via the provided lanyard they look cool. The first thing I did when I opened the package, after admiring how cool they looked, was try them on. Obviously. They slide in very easily and fit snug - the firm base makes it easy to control insert angle and prevent applying to much pressure and hurting yourself. The little pull tab worked as designed to get the ear plugs out, but I found it a little tricky to get the right pressure to get them to pop out. The lanyard does this for me, and with the string, you get plenty of leverage if you need it. I recommend switching to the lanyard immediately. The fit was very comfortable and the first few time I used them I couldn't help but smile. The amount of clarity that these retain while in your ear is mind blowing if you are used to foam ear plugs. It really is exactly like just turning down the volume of everyday life around you. Some frequencies are muffled a little bit, but overall the sound quality is exceptional. I was worried they would be uncomfortable inside my helmet with the large plastic base. This was a non-issue after putting my helmet on and realizing they are seated comfortably inside the ear and do not stick out far enough to bump into anything. Chatting with people over my Bluetooth speakers sounds great, even at highway speeds. Voices are not muffled or sound out of place. If the ear plugs are not properly inserted you will probably notice a resonance in the lower frequencies. It's not a painful sound but the lower sounds have extra buzziness added to them. Just pull over and adjust the plugs appropriately or even continue to ride - I never found it uncomfortable. These were my top pick between the two, I'd recommend these to anyone looking to try a pair of reusable ear plugs! Nothing but praise for these!

Muy satisfecho con el producto. Atenúa el sonido sin distorsionar nada. Merece la pena lo que cuestan. Tienen mejor rendimiento que los Loop a la hora de atenuar sin distorsionar. Un 10.
