Fit without issue on my 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser(FZJ80), works well for its price point, but as another reviewer noted you may need to assist it slightly to fully extend it upward. It has held true in -30° temperatures all the way to 100°+ without a change in performance over my 18 months of ownership. So if your looking for something to stop that rear hatch from falling down on you while your trying to access your gear, then this might just be your solution.

These worked exactly as good as the 28 year old lifts. They will not open the rear hatch all the way.

Might provide a tiny bit of help in lifting, but does not hold the door at all.

although hard to find these are the proper struts for the 80 series Landcruiser

Still have to lift the gate by hand the last foot or so on my '91 FJ80. Once lifted they do hold it in place, but they aren't quite strong enough.

I'm grateful Tuff Support makes so many models for so many applications--bolted onto my 94 Toyota Land Cruiser with ease and much less expensive than OEM--but this is definitely a replacement not an upgrade. Merely adequate lifting pressure.

Support the gate, but do not assist the opening like others.
