Creating a better world...
This is an easy and interesting read even for those who do not spend much time reading books or have lost the habit. This book identifies some of the social evils haunting the American and Indian societies and hypothesises solutions based on technology and common sense. The writers' compassion and liberal moorings are evident from the premises of the story. The story is presented through the experiences of an Indian (Sid) settled in the USA for his materialistic goals and an American (Tess) settled in India for spiritual reasons. The idea of telling the story by juxtaposing a couple of expatriates with their divergent methods but similar larger goals is clever. Both the central characters are self aware, compassionate and motivated to help the people around them and the society at large. The reader feels attached to such beautiful souls and wishes them success. The characters also seem to recognize their own biases and that makes them more human and realistic. The description of the venture capitalist culture and its aspirations, and the emotional ups and downs of individuals involved in that culture are portrayed well. This is contrasted by the simplicity of the Indian society's motives. This is a very absorbing book overall - well organized, and narrated well with a clear language. This is a book that one doesn't want to put down. It is sure to appeal especially to Indians who have immigrated to the USA.Coming up with a plot and designing events of a story coherently and interestingly is a very hard art, and the authors have done a great job overall.Nevertheless, there are a few minor inconsistencies in my opinion. I find it hard to believe Tess would be unaware of the events in the USA especially with today's uber-connectivity. Since she is also involved with the curriculum of a school she runs, she must have been exposed to some of what's happening around the globe. The book proposes some technological solutions for moral and behavioral problems, such as a chip that de-biases people and a chip that makes guns aware of people's feelings. However, these would be very contentious proposals in real life. While these technological solutions are not unacceptable per se, the book doesn't attempt to include characters that bring up some of the objections to these technologies.I wish Tess' school had been shown to have become a nationwide phenomenon in India, just because that would have been an effective strategy to teach compassion. In summary, loved the book and it's heartily recommended!

Creative use of technology to solve human bias
Book starts off a bit slow but picks up in the middle. The author paints a vivid picture with words: like the description of the back porch. Beautiful! The book is set in the future and the world has grown smaller. Story starts off when a very successful Indian tech entrepreneur who lives in Silicon Valley has to travel to southern India on the news of his parents death. He is trying to cope with the loss with the help of an American professor living in southern India. They have long discussions about the utopian tech solution for human bias. Short and interesting read. I do really wish technology provides solutions to the core human problems.

takes you back to roots in a world that seems to have overcome some hard problems by 2050
I like where the author takes you back to his hometown where he grew up and makes you feel peaceful reminiscing old places and foods even when dealing with tragedy. Then comes across this "amma" who he tries to impress showing some of the hard problems like gun control and bigotry, etc. have been overcome only to see how she has created a nice peaceful surrounding of her own and considers staying back

A unique & interesting perspective on using technology to solve social and cultural issues
Creative Imagination is used to offer optimism and hope in today's progressive world where so much still needs to change for the better on the social and cultural front.Use of technology to resolve social issues is an "outside the box" idea that portends the potential evolution of technology to the next level.....Enjoyed reading every page of the book !Reminded me about John Lennon's song "Imagine"...

Enchanting
I read this in just a few hours. Enchanting and smooth read that takes you on Sid's personal journey while also exploring what utopia could look like through tech advancements for the better. A particularly fun and encouraging read during the COVID-19 pandemic, this work launches the reader into a future where inanimate objects have consciousness and where mauve is a colour of inclusion and transformation. Highly recommend!

Unbiased and Utopian
Very easy read. Very nicely told story on how an unbiased and utopian world can be lived in. The authors put in a lot of deep thought into the chronologically depicted events that lead to it. That makes it a very interesting story.
