Ultra Swim Chlorine Removal & Hard Water Treatment Moisturizing Shampoo, 7 Ounce

Why has it taken me so long to try this!?? As a frequent swimmer who also colors my hair - I began to notice a slight green/ yellow tinge to my brown hair. Then after a recent trip oversees where I was not swimming and using their water- my hair was soft and shiny -yet as soon as I returned home to swimming and hard water - my hair felt dry, frizzy and unmanageable. This has been a game changer! I read some reviews about the smell but to me it smells like a fruity, floral drug store shampoo! And it works! Just a handful of uses in, my hair is soft, the weird discoloring is gone and it does not strip hair color! I just cannot believe I have waited so long to try - my hair has not looked or felt this good in a long time !

First thing I wanna say is that this definitely is not a shampoo that should be used with color treated hair unless that color is what you want to remove from your hair. I’m actually not sure how well this works for chlorine, but because it took so much of my purple hair dye out of my hair, I know for a fact that this will work wonderfully for green chlorine as well. Actually, the whole reason I thought it was because when I got my hair dyed, it turned out way more purple than I had intended, and I really needed to dial it back. It has been about three months since I’ve had my hair dyed, and some of it has faded, but the majority of it was still very purple. I googled how to fade hair dye quickly and this shampoo showed up and so I bought it right away. The first and only time I had used it so far it faded my purple hair by at least 40-50%. I do want to tell you that when I used it, I did not wet my hair down first. I put it on dry hair, left it in for about 10 minutes and then lathered with water and rinsed. Then I washed it again on wet hair. This worked very well for me. Even after having my hair dyed for three months, when I washed it in the bathtub, all the studs from the shampoo were purple. I actually changed my mind and would rather do my hair pink instead of purple so I am washing it a third time tonight with about a third of the shampoo left in the bottle from last time. I just bought some more as well, so I’m hoping within the next week or so it will have gotten enough of the purple dye out so I can add the pink. This time I bought the conditioner with it so I am looking forward to trying that. Unfortunately, I can’t say much about how much this shampoo may or may not damage hair because the last time I did it I put in some K18 hair mask that my hair desperately needed since it was severely bleached when I dyed it purple. By the way, the K 18 mask helped soooo much in making my hair, feel healthier and stronger after bleaching and I highly recommend it. I will try and come back to this review once I have tried out the conditioner.

This shampoo smells amazing, lathers well and made my daughter’s hair smooth after a long day in the pool. Will continue buying this product over and over. Highly recommend!

As a hair dresser, I have used countless chlorine removal products. While on vacation I realized that I forgot to pack our usual chlorine shampoo so I ordered this out of necessity. The product arrived in a sealed bag with the safety tape across the cap. Some reviews I read before purchasing suggested that the product was smelly. When I opened the bottle I definitely noticed a w**d like smell which was not what I was expecting, but it wasn't awful. The viscosity was thinner than I was expecting but I quickly realized that a little goes a long way. It provides a great lather. As I was working the product in, my hair instantly felt so soft which is not typical with most shampoo products. I was worried the smell would remain in my hair, but the more I lathered the less I could smell it. I rinsed it all out and my hair was still soft, even without conditioner. I towel dried my hair and the smell of the product and chlorine was completely gone. After my hair dried there was still no smell and it was very manageable, no straw hair in sight! I gave it 4 stars because of the smell, but still highly recommend.

Great price! Worked great on my straight hair and great on my kiddos curly hair. Made both our hair so soft. Love the smell!

Washed 3x last night and 2x this morning after an unfortunate incident with water HIGH in copper. Shampoo definitely works. I think I’ll use a couple more times.

I have a pool so wanted a shampoo to get the chlorine out of my hair. This one works well and lathers up nicely when applying and rinses off quickly in the shower. This shampoo is VERY thin. Barely thicker than water. When I dispense it into my hand it runs off and I end up wasting as much as I use. I have never seen a shampoo so thin before. Doesn't have a strong scent which is great for me. Great price too. Next time I will try another brand.

Using Ultra Swim since I was a pool lifeguard around 30 years ago to present. It never irritates my very sensitive skin. The fragrance is mild and 'clean' smelling. I don't color or bleach my hair so can't speak to impact on treated hair. I used it on my daughter after her swim lessons, she has coily/spiral curls, doesn't over strip them. I also use it as a product build-up remover about once a month. Swimmer tip - for that post swim shower @ the pool, I leave my swimsuit on and wash that with the shampoo at the same time, helps slow color fade and my suit elasticity lasts longer. I've never used the Ultra Swim conditioner, I just use my regular product for that step.

After only one wash the chlorine green was removed from my highlighted blonde hair. The shampoo is very runny so I only used a tiny amount and it lathered well. The scent was pleasant and my hair was clean and smooth afterwards.

This shampoo works perfect for dry hair especially for competitive swimmers. It smells good to add on.
