I’ve always loved drawing but never felt confident in my skills. This book completely changed that! The tutorials are clear, easy to follow, and incredibly encouraging. It breaks down complex techniques like shading and photorealistic detailing into manageable steps, which made me feel like I could actually improve—and I have! Practicing with the exercises in this book has not only improved my drawings but also boosted my confidence. Whether you’re just starting out or want to refine your skills, I can’t recommend this book enough. It’s been such a rewarding experience for me!

This book is good for beginners learning light angles, and shadowing. I was hoping for some thing a little more advanced, but I’ll keep looking.

I love this book and I was sad when it ended as I just wanted more! She explains everything very well and really takes you through it step by step!

One of my nieces expressed interest in getting a book to help her learn to draw realistically, so to Amazon I went. I settled on this one due to all the positive reviews and because it is literally what she asked for. She was excited to receive this book and some drawing supplies for her birthday and dove right in. She did the exercises and almost immediately was producing very realistic drawings, which really boosted her confidence. Now she can take a photo and translate it to a photorealistic drawing in graphite. Friends and family put in special requests because they love her drawings. My sister ended up buying another of Jasmina Susak's books for a young relative's birthday because they were inspired to take up drawing after seeing my niece's success. Very cool all around!

I was looking forward to receiving this book, but I am really disappointed because the book shows only a few items to draw. The 44 pages on drawing a face were particularly annoying because each page shows the entire face with tiny variations, I couldn’t even tell the difference between most of the images. I will continue my quest for the perfect drawing book, this one isn’t it, for me.

Do not buy. Waste of your money. Quality of paper is bad and half of the book is about the face of a woman.

O livro é explicativo e faz o passo-a-passo de uma forma simples para ser percetível por iniciantes. Aliás, o livro é mesmo para iniciantes, sendo que explica de forma clara o básico. A qualidade da capa é fraquinha e a qualidade das imagens poderia ser melhor, sendo que por vezes parece uma fotocópia sem a qualidade devida. Mas cumpre as funções de ensinar, na perfeição.

As in the titel, a good allround starter. It improved my technique but as with all drawing books it is you who’ ll have to do the exercises.

Great book, easy to read & produces good results.
