I need a hose that will not collapse from the suction of my 1/2hp transfer pump. Is this the hose to buy?

Yes. This hose will not collapse. Make sure that your transfer pump inlet is 1 1/2" though 1/2HP seems like a small pump.

Do I need to have a male 1 1/2" pipe thread adapter to join this hose to a Little Giant submersible pump?

This is a suction hose. I don't know why you would use it with a submersible pump.

Is there a foot valve that any of you have used with this style of intake hose?

Yes All foot valve will work but I used a good Quality one

The pictures shows one male end and one female end. Should be able to connect two for double length, right? No other hardware needed?

No hardware needed. You can string as many hoses together as needed, just another hose. Always make sure you have a gasket inside the female end.
