R410A Adapter 4 Pack, 5/16" SAE Female to 1/4" SAE Male Flare

I ordered this item to use to evacuate the system on a mini split that I also just purchased from Amazon. I read several of the reviews for it, so I was prepared to make any adjustments if necessary. But, none were needed. It did its job perfectly, and my new mini split is installed and working great!! Great price as well! Did not have any connection or leakage issues.

Worked well. Valve depressor is adjustable

Works perfect

Based on what others have said, and the design itself, I went ahead and modified it before using it, aannnnddd (drum roll please), IT WORKED GREAT. On one of the short ones, and one of the long ones, I replaced the Teflon (white) seal with the included softer seal. But, based on the way the male end was affixed to the tube, I still didn't trust it to seal: it is not soldered on -- appears to just be pushed into place. SO, again, before even using it, I went ahead and put some anerobic-curing post-assembly sealant* between the tube and the male fitting. I put it on the outside, and it wicked down into the joint. You can see in the attached photo where I put it. END RESULT: When I did use it to evacuate a system, the vacuum held for about 20 minutes with no indication of leakage (the vacuum gage didn't budge over the 20 minutes, nor when I turned the pump on again at the end of the 20 minutes.) I wish they had just provided the 8 seals as part of the kit, without installing the 4 Teflon ones. The seals are EXTREMELY difficult to remove. The only way I could get the Teflon seal out was to use an Exacto knife to cut completely through the seal (from bottom to top -- risking putting a scar/leakage path in the brass), then to pry one of the edges away from the brass enough to wriggle some needle-nose pliers between the brass and the Teflon. It was a major pain-in-the-hand (I ended up injuring my finger with a sharp instrument -- recommend holding it with pliers while wrestling with it)! Once I got the Teflon seal out, installing the soft seal was easy: just pushed it in with my (uninjured) fingers. *Permatex Threadlocker GREEN, Penetrating Grade 29000 or LocTite equivalent.

Good

Good fit works great

Good price works great

This adapters leak so refrigerant would start to come out immediately. The oil in the leaked refrigerant would make it that much harder to tighten it to stop the leakage. It takes a lot of effort and over tightening to make it work. The gasket seems to be made of some hard plastic instead of rubber. Not sure what’s the reason for the choice of material. Would not recommend this product.

I’m a HVAC technician and decided to try these out because of the price and the good reviews. Used them once and they are all leaking. DONT BUY! Better off spending the extra money on Yellowjacket adaptors they will last 1000x longer.

Good stuff with extra seals.

Set of 4 same price as 1 everywhere else

Item as described

Ok but had to really be tighted to seal
