Perfect size and weight!
Kitchenaid is the best! I have a 7 quart very heavy mixer that I could no longer lift and that I also did not have room to leave on my kitchen counter. This one is smaller, lighter weight, and does not take up much counter space. I had to get used to mixing and adding ingredients a little more slowly since the mixing bowl is not as deep as the bigger mixers. The mixer runs very quietly but still gives me enough power to mix up my usual muffins, cakes, and bread recipes. The attachments are smaller to accommodate the smaller bowl. The only downside for some may be that the mixing bowl may not have enough room to mix up a double recipe if that is something you do frequently. Overall, I am very happy with the size and performance of this mixer!

Space Saving Quality
Smaller than full size mixer. But we just recently renovated our kitchen, and the full size mixer would not fit on the mixer lift we had installed, and full size was too heavy. This is a smaller, lighter version with the same power which fits the lift. Perfect if you don't have the room and we are still able to make full casseroles and cakes. KitchenAid is the only brand mixer we will buy...the difference in quality is obvious.

Great mixer
I have wanted a KitchenAid stand mixer for years. I love the look and also the idea of being able to multitask in the kitchen instead of holding onto a hand mixer the entire time. My kitchen is smaller with limited counter space so the larger version of the stand mixer would barely fit under my cabinets. I saw this advertised on Prime day and was ecstatic to see this smaller version. It just arrived today and I have already unboxed it and used it to make my “famous” oatmeal cookies. It works Iike an absolute dream and I am officially smitten 🥰. It fits beautifully on my counter and under the cabinets. It’s slightly larger than our Nespresso Vertuo machine as a comparison. I bake my own bread from scratch and am going to try out the dough hook tomorrow. Totally worth the investment. I am thinking of purchasing the glass bowl too. IMHO this version is plenty for a small household and is easy to move, not heavy at all.

Fine for most households
I kept waffling back-and-forth between this and a larger model specifically because all the video reviews and everything said this was appropriate for 1-2 people, but the deal is if you just bake normal things and normal portions like one cake or pie, or one batch of cookies at a time, and you don't want a larger model, this is just fine for a family up to 4-6 people. My wife broke it in today and made a batch of four dozen cookies using a 12 oz. bag of chocolate chips and had no issues with the bowl being too small for the batch. We wanted a stand mixer because while my wife loves baking, she has issues with arthritis that make hand mixing something like this batch of cookies and other things that you would normally hand mix difficult. But this mixer made the task nearly effortless, and once she was done mixing the batch she described this mixer as "a Godsend." I really wanted this model because it has a DC motor and is just as powerful but quieter than the larger models with their AC motors, and it also has all metal gears and soft-start. The only drawback with the 3.5 quart model is that there isn't a plethora of additional bowls and accessories, though all the attachments do work with it apparently with the exception of the ice cream maker. There's only a couple of additional beaters available from KitchenAid or any other vendor, I could only find a glass mixing bowl from KA, and there's no pouring shields from anyone, just generic pouring chutes (and NO, it does NOT come with a pouring shield despite what this website says). There's also no pastry beaters available, but I figure if our baking skills progress that far then we’ll get the 5 quart Artisan next Black Friday. Update: Made a yeast roll recipe that called for 4 cups of flour, and it just rode up the dough hook instead of mixing around in the bottom. I will halve the recipe in order to make it in this mixer. Still happy, though.

Great replacement for the large model
We are very happy with this addition to our kitchen. It replaced the older standard model, which was heavier and harder to store and maneuver. There was no loss of utility with this smaller model.

Perfect...Looks and works great!
I initially bought the KitchenAid classic mixer but then saw many recent one star ratings on such and decided to return and upgrade to the KitchenAid mini artisan 3.5 mixer. So glad I did as I can use w/o having to move mixer at all. It opens up w/o even touching the upper cabinets. Also has the flexible mixing attachment for the bowl. Now it's time for some Jewish Deli Rye bread with caraway seeds. Yum Yum

Not the quality I expect from KitchenAid, but still a nice enough little machine
KitchenAid used to be synonymous with top-quality kitchen equipment and was worth every (over-priced) penny. That's gone down the drain. This is a decent little mixer, but it just looks and feels cheap. My biggest quality complaints: * The silver strip with the brand name going around the tilt-head portion isn't actually attached. It's just tacked on somewhere on the back, clacks and moves around if you tap it, and good luck getting flour out of it if you get a puff of dry ingredients from the bowl. * They are apparently too cheap to include a spring on the beater head attachment anymore, but this model at least feels like they fit more securely than my other larger bowl-lift model. * The power switch knob thing is basically unusable if you're a lefty. Don't ask me how the heck they managed this, but it glides perfectly fine with almost no effort if I use my right hand and not at all (without difficulty and changing the angle my hand moves) with my left. Pros: * Unlike my 5-quart bowl lift (KV25G0X), this one does *not* sound like an airplane taking off with a rock stuck in the engine. It's much quieter, like my old classic tilt-head model that finally died a few years ago. * Unlike the bowl lift model, this one can perfectly handle creaming a single stick of butter to start a recipe, and the flex-edge beater is AWESOME at getting ingredients fully mixed. I just have to stop and scrape the sides (mostly the bottom) once or twice instead of multiple times. (Can you tell I'm not impressed with the bowl-lift one?) * It's just the right size for a single batch of cookie dough, casserole for a 9x9 pan, or 1-2 loaf bread recipe; perfect for an individual, smaller kitchen, or if you're like me, for smaller batches that your bigger mixer can't handle. (I don't typically do yeast dough so that's 1-2 loaves of pumpkin or banana bread.) In addition to the quality issues above, my biggest pet peeve is the design of the flex head beater in regards to being able to clean it thoroughly. There are defined, poorly-smoothed seams where the rubber portion is sealed over the metal (?) beater. They're a pain to clean and require taking a scrubbing brush to them to ensure all the batter is gone. I'm kind of okay with that in tradeoff for how well they mix, though, and they're still easier to clean than any of the blades in my food processor. :) I almost gave up on KitchenAid after my poor experience with the bowl-lift mixer, but I'm glad I gave this one a try. I certainly wouldn't buy it except on sale, though. There's no way I would pay the $330-$380 it's currently listing for.

Love this powerful little mini mixer!
Nice little stand mixer. I am a fairly big fan of KitchenAid and this little mixer doesn't disappoint. It seems to be a good quality that I would expect from KitchenAid. The only thing I have a complaint about is the beater with the scraper edge.., it doesn't seem to scrape the bowl sides very well, but that not a deal breaker. It seems to be a fairly powerful mixer for it's size. Also, not sure if the mixer head lock lever is supposed to go all the way.., mine doesn't but the head seems to lock ok. I have the big 6qt. that is just too big (and it's heavy) for anything but large amounts or using the grinder, that's why I got the small 3.5 qt. "Mini". I am expecting that it will run for a long time!!

Small size with plenty of capacity
I have had this for a few years and love it. It is lightweight and doesn't take a ton of room on the countertop. The bowl is big enough for cakes, muffins, meringues, and single loaves of focaccia bread.

Great product! Useful tool in any kitchen.
Works very well as advertised. I like to do cookies in batches that are usually around 24 to 36 and it seems to be around the perfect size for that. I also made a massive cake – three layers end with this mixer. That nearly took it to the limit, but it worked. The look as attractive, build quality is excellent, and functionality a welcome addition addition to my kitchen.
