Aluminized Heat Shield Thermal Barrier Adhesive Backed Heat Blanket (12'' X 24'')

I needed to shield the bottom and a bit of the middle as well as the wiring of some LED rings from the extreme heat of almost direct contact with a 150W ceramic reptile heating bulb. (Needed a non light emitting heat source to run the lamp because normal bulbs would wash out the LED light) I don't know how hot that bulb can get (I melted a desktop thermometer trying to test it. lol Whoops) but suffice to say it's hot enough to give an instablister if I touched it. Yet this stuff is easily good enough to shield the LED from the heat. With a single layer of tinfoil too I added just for good measure anyways. But that was only on the middle part. The underside and the wiring is all this stuff. So this worked out well and being self adhesive really made it easy to use. I'll definitely be buying more if I ever have to shield some small things from heat.

Very good product. I used it on my evaporator core in my Ford F-250 6.0. gets a lot of heat build up in the engine compartment. There's definitely helped cool down my AC. A lot of work fitting it to the squirrel cage but well worth it

Okay, I read the reviews and I was reluctant to purchase this product because some people complained about the adhesive and another said the foil peeled off, so I initially purchased the other “skin” product. That stuff was pricy and has it’s own issues. So on my second project I took a chance on this. It works great. I did clean the firewall with rubbing alcohol to remove any gunk. The foil did NOT peel off. It was on pretty good actually. It conforms to the firewall much better than the other product and sticks very well. Repels heat just as good if not better and was easier to cut with a utility knife. The other product shredded when I cut it.

These were purchased to protect the cabinet sides and wall around a new stove we're getting. I was concerned with higher temps with the new oven features plus someone said the self-cleaning feature can reach 700 degrees. In the past with the former stove, I often feared the wood cabinet sides could catch fire with the intense heat. I actually quit using that feature for that reason. The entire three sides of the stove area are now covered with these sheets. Time will tell but I have good vibes about them. I deleted one star because the 12" x 24" sheets are not consistent in size. If they are cut by a machine, something needs adjusting. If cut by a human, there needs to be more accuracy. One sheet hit 13" wide on one end and the 12" on the other end causing an angular top line which threw everything off. I ended up measuring each sheet and making it more accurate before putting into place. Fix the consistency of the measurements and you'll have a five star product.

I lifted my truck, which changed the tire size from 16 to the larger 18. The new spare I purchased fits much more tightly in the carrier under the vehicle, butting-up against the heat shield for the tailpipe. Though I've observed it really doesn't get that hot, I decided to add a layer of this material on both the inside and outside of the shield, just as insurance the tire will suffer no heat damage in the future. If the adhesive holds, long-term, it should be helpful, in that regard. I find this product easy to work with, cuts nicely, and sticks well initially.

I used this over my turbo in my AMG GT53, which are the hottest component in the engine bay. The stock shielding on the engine cover was getting pinholes which caused my top emblem to burn and crack off.. so I got this and a new top emblem. I was originally worried this product might melt off and burn on my turbo, which would be horrible. However, it has been holding strong for about a month now and looks like the day I bought it (see pic)! Emblem is holding up just fine too now, so the shielding is doing its job. Highly recommended product!

Initial application is somewhat difficult to apply. Separating the backing from adhesive side is difficult at best. Once that’s achieved there’s no problem. Anyone who has a can am knows how hot the exhaust side is on bare legs. Hopefully this will resolve this issue. I’ve tried exhaust wraps but over time that’s failed.
