GUTR Flex Sweatband - High Performance Endurance Headband for Cycling, Sports, Gym, Work

Ok, was skeptical but it worked. Significantly less eye irritation after spending a morning working outside in high heat.

I was recently getting ready for a MTB endurance race and a friend of mine saw me putting on my cotton headband and made a comment that I should really try the SWEAT GUTR Sweatband. Of course I replied I’m used to wearing my cotton headband; sure by the end of riding it’s soaked with sweat, but I’ve ridden this way for years. Anyway, after the race, I started looking at the SWEAT GUTR FLEX sweatbands and figured I would give this gadget a try. Honestly, I was really surprised after my ride today. I had zero in my face; this was a first. WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS THE SWEAT GUTR FLEX SWEATBAND 1. Zero sweat was in my eyes! This sweatband works! 2. Since I'm not wearing my cotton headband, I noticed my head was a little cooler overall because I noticed the helmet vents actually doing their job. WHAT I DISLIKE ABOUT THIS THE SWEAT GUTR FLEX SWEATBAND 1. Sweat did find another location, my ears… not a massive amount, but I did feel a little sweat making its way into my ears. In all fairness, I do wear my Apple earphones while riding and these may have been a contributor to this nuance. However, I since I only used the sweatband once, I cannot say for sure. I will give it another try without my headphones. UPDATE: After a few more rides, and adjusting the sweatband, the sweatband is simply awesome. The one thing that was bothering me about a little sweat going in my ears is now a non-issue; even when wearing my Apple earphones... THIS IS THE NEWEST MODEL FOR 2018 According to the SWEAT GUTR website, the SWEAT GUTR FLEX sweatband is the newest model for 2018. From what I gathered from my research, the FLEX fits better under helmets than previous versions. Since I used mine today, I can attest that this fits great under a helmet. CONCLUSION The big win is that I did not have sweat in my eyes for the first time - ever. If you looking for a sweatband that will keep sweat out of your eyes, this will definitely do the job.

I'm a runner, and this Gutr works far better than a sweat band, which quickly saturates and loses usefulness after 20 minutes. There's no saturation to worry about with the Gutr. Much better than carrying a half-dozen sweat bands to swap out every 15 minutes. The version I received does not match the photos; I suspect this is v2. Where the first version has velcro and an O-ring, mine has an adjustable elastic strap (as seen on the Gutr website). I have a medium-size head (think of a typical strap-back trucker hat: mine has all the pegs lined up with all the holes) and I have to have this head band at near its maximum size. So if you have a huge head, this might not fit without some modifications. The trick is to get it to juuust big enough to hold the gutter part flush against your forehead so that it can catch all the sweat, but no tighter as that might give you a headache once the blood is pumping. I'm a little worried that the elastic strap may wear out before the rest of it. But it's still early, so we'll see. While it seemed to prevent any sweat from my forehead getting into my eyes or glasses, it of course can't do anything about eyebrow sweat. Still, a ~90% reduction of sweat to worry about is a win! I think for v3, it would be nice if there was an extra inch on either side of the gutter, so that the ends don't empty over the edge of the eye sockets and instead empty further back to the temples. Not that it seemed to be too much of a problem. All-in-all, very good; would recommend!

OK, in fairness, my last one was about 15 years ago and I used it for at least 5 years. I found that one comfortable and effective at keeping the sweat from my eyes when cycling in the heat, especially during long distance rides (e.g. centuries and longer like the Brewery to Brewery in Boston to VT). This new one seems the same but either I sweat more or it's just not as effective for some reason. It's also noticeably less comfortable as it seems to rub in 1 particular spot just above my right eyebrow. So, while I still use it, it's just not as comfortable nor as effective it seems. That said, it IS a lot better than nothing.

Intuitively it seems like this item would work, more so when you feel the high quality silicon rubber. But my closet it full of intuitive items that don't work, so I was anxious to try this out. Today it's 92F w/high humidity here in the STL swamp (go CITY SC!) so a perfect day to try this out with a 6K. It feels a bit odd at first, maybe a bit tight, and you have to wear it low around the eyebrows I assume for maximum catch. But it's like the pains of warmup, un-noticeable before you know it. After the halfway turnaround the heat was really catching up to me. I was amazed at how well this worked. Normally I wipe my forehead every 10 steps by that point in a vain attempt to save my eyes, I didn't do it one single time. I wear a visor, and used to just pull this down low to try to catch the salt. But (a) it didn't work and (b) that puts hot fabric over my forehead, which takes away an important heat radiator. Now I wear the visor high up more as just a sun block. A nice side effect is it kept my sunglasses (which are really prescription eyeglasses) totally clear. Normally 70% of the view is covered by salt and I just do my best to look thru it. Now? Totally 100% clear when I got home. The sweat goes down the GUTR, not the glasses. The hardest thing honestly is now to just run, stop messing with my forehead. Let that sweat go, forget it, it's there to cool you off anyway. Trust the GUTR, that salt is not going in your eyes. It will be hard to break that habit, I've clearly developed some unconscious tics endlessly trying to protect my eyes. I'm anxious to try it out on longer runs, and also on the bike. I see no reason it won't work just as well, it is a simple device that does exactly what you picture.

I never realized how much of a problem sweat was for bald people. I still recommend this for people with hair, but you may not have as much of a need for it as I did. The band works as advertised. Some people complained about the sweat build-up, and eventually coming out of the collection gutter, but for me, it always ran off the sides as intended, and not onto my face. It was oddly satisfying feeling it finally release down the side and not into my eyeballs. The band is comfortable, and sits on my forhead wherever I need it too without adjusting the size at all. The only drawback I experienced was that quite simply, it's additional headwear. This is an FYI to the customer, not a drawback of the band itself. For me though, using it to mountain bike, it is competing with my bike helmet, headphones, and glasses. It is however a pivotal piece and I will not work-out or do any sweat inducing activity without my GUTR band going forward. The value it brings for the price is shocking. I would recommend this to anyone that sweats.

It looks like this product has been around for a while so I have to ask why can't they test it and improve it! It's so close to working it's just frustrating for me. The channel is simply too narrow. When worn it closes the gap even more creating a vapor lock I guess you could call it. Basically sweat wont flow into it or through it. (just over it) Not sure how else to explain it but it leaves me wondering why don't they actually test this stuff and make improvements!! They have a patent on the design too so no one else can come out with a product that will work. Lift your game Gutr. Seriously. I had sweat in my eyes 10 minutes into my mtb ride. The Halo 2 band lasts around 25 min. Both aren't good enough. This Gutr headband really has potential too. If they simply increased the width of the channel and maybe even the depth it would work. Its that simple. So frustrating. I will now try both the Halo 2 and Gutr together. Fingers crossed. If these two company's worked together they could make a product that actually works I reckon. Update: A few more rides and I've tried both the Halo 2 band and Gutr at the same time. With my Bike helmet(Fox) it just wont work. Too much at once. The Gutr keeps falling onto my eyes. I have to push it back up all the time. I've also found that the gutters dump sweat to close to your eyes (when the gutter does allow it to flow through) When leaning forward on a MTB the exit point is simply to close to the corners of your eyes. (I have a normal size head btw Size M helmets) At this point I've decided I wont use either of these products. Both the Halo 2 and Gutr come up way short on what they claim to do. You start out good then all hell breaks loose for the remainder of your ride. When not using these you have a milder constant sweat issue. If the Gutr was actually bonded to a sweat band they might have something that could work. Lastly having plastic up against your skin creates sweat. Put a plastic bag on your hand and go out in the sun. See how much sweat that produces. Jockeys run in garbage bags because it makes them sweat more and get down to there race weight. My point is the band creates sweat were it meets the skin. If it had a materiel backing it would be better. Will be sending this back. For Mtb riding its completely worthless.

Why is it I'm so quick to dismiss something that seems "too good to be true"? This is one of those items. I first saw this in a bike shop over a year ago, and as a profusely sweating runner, cyclist, and inline skater, I thought "that would be cool if it really worked." Since then, I've seen these in a couple more bike shops, online, and I've seen some runners wearing them at events. Still, I was skeptical. If they really worked, wouldn't everyone be wearing one? At least everyone who's sick of sweat dripping on the back of their glasses' or sunglasses' lenses? This summer, I got to the point where I was going through two or three bandanna headbands per run, and I was STILL drenching my glasses! I finally decided to give the GUTR a try. I just got back from my third run wearing this, and I'm ordering a second one tonight. I never want to run without one of these again. It's seldom that a product (especially one this simple in design) exceeds my most optimistic hopes, but this one does. It works just as well after an hour of heavy sweating as it does when I put it on. It never gets heavy or hot or cold, it fits under my cycling/skating helmets, and it just plain works. Like another reviewer pointed out, it does leave a red stripe across the forehead after use, but I can live with that to have clean glasses for an entire run or skate. Pretty convenient, too; just rinse it off after use, shake the water off and throw it back in the duffel.

I’m a cyclist and it doesn’t work for me because of the angle you have your head while cycling. Would be better for a runner

I have been blessed as being a person that sweats all the time, even in winter! This is by far the best sweatband I have ever used. You hardly feel it on, it doesn't leave a band mark on your forehead and it keeps the sweat out of my eyes and off my face. Especially in summer when on a hot day the sweat will drip off my face, this is the first product that has helped... in 35 years! Even my family noticed how well it works, my forehead will be quite cover in beads of sweat, but a finger width above my eyebrows (as directions state) the sweat stops, they were as amazed as I was, and I am so much more comfortable on my walks, when out for a run, and just stuck in the heat in general. Definitely will recommend and buy again!

以前はSWEAT GUTR スウェットバンド スモークを利用していましたが、無くしてしまい、こちらを購入。 以前使っていたものに比べ締め付けられる感じが少なく、使っていて頭が痛くなるということが減りました。 汗かきで、祭りのときに汗が目に入り、炎症を起こすことがよくあるのですが、以前使ったものと同様、完ぺきではないですが、汗を横に逃がしてくれるためか、炎症にはなりますがひどくはなりませんでした。 坊主にしていることもあり、しっかりとフィットしているのが良いのかもしれません。

La mejor solución para los que sufrimos de excesiva sudoración. Llevo dos salidas con él y por fin mis gafas no han acabado empañadas y llenas de sudor. Además se disimula bastante bien justo debajo del casco.
