Excellent quality and carves easily, nice and sharp. Bigger than expected with long handle but it's the go too tool at the minute for carving spoons.

Hmm it's ok, feel like my wrenching my hand round to get it to bits, without reshaping the knife edge it can be tricky to make it cut, I am left handed though this is ambidextrous obviously, maybe I'm kakhanded or maybe I'm missing a trick, I've had to sharpen it myself, wasn't really cutting great but a Sharpening stone and a few mins sorted it out

Solid, feels easily workable in the hand. Comes with a decent, sharp edge straight out of the box. Appears to have relatively high carbon content steel, so should keep an edge for a while. Nothing beats it on price I think.

Picked this up to carve small bowls and spoons. It needed a bit of sharpening and honing out of the box for my purposes. Holds an edge reasonably well, probably would last longer with Green wood-So far I’ve been working some awkwardly grained sweet chestnut, and it’s handled it ok. Speaking of - The handle is not a great shape for me, tapering toward the ferrule, could do with a bigger ridge at the fore, to grip more securely. But for the price you won’t find a better gouge.

Awesome gouge a game changer for me

I ordered this with high hopes and it did not disappoint, ergonomic, stylish and came shaving sharp. On a side note, while I ordered this on amazon, I have since discovered their online shop and in the future when I buy more tools from beavercraft I will do so directly (as I understand it, amazon takes a commission).

Really disappointing, tried the gouge today and the edge has immediately become damaged. It was used on dry wood but not particularly hard wood. See pictures. What a shame I won’t be buying anything else from beavercraft.

Strong, sharp and well made. I read a lot of reviews on different carving tools and settled on this one. Well worth the price. Started using it to carve a kuksa in a piece of burl mountain ash as soon as I got it. Works great. Holds an edge and sharpens easily. If starting out I would recommend this tool. I definitely enjoy using it.

Beautifully made sharp edge that holds as long as you hone during your projects love using this gouge! Only complaint is the anti split ring comes loose every once in a while while applying pressure while gouging but it can easily be put back into place with no hassle. In my opinion beavercraft is one of the better manufacturers for wood carving tools I've recommended them a few times to people for good quality tools that are affordable

Perfect for carving cups, spoons and other things. Super sharp out the box, will definitely buy from these folks again.

Stålet sitter snett i handtaget och det är rostigt stål. Handtaget är oxå lite väl torrt, ett lager lack hade inte skadat. Men den har en vass egg.
