These are sort of a mishmash of review flashcards and playing cards, so you can review a few key phrases while playing other games. For my French enthusiast in the house, I had hoped it would be a hit, but it was more of a, 'oh, that's sort of cute' reaction. The general impression is, it may be ok for a novice just learning, but having dry- or wet-erase markers on cards would be more beneficial for being able to add your own phrases at various degrees of complexity. Still, the quality is nice for the cards, and they arrive in a decent quality tin, so it does make a nice little set, it just didn't generate the reaction I'd have expected for such an idea.

The French Lingo set of playing cards is well-made and well-packaged. It comes as a standard deck of cards but that box comes inside a decorative tin. This makes it very giftable. The cards are like any standard playing card in size and feel. The face of the card is printed well and easy to read. The expressions are fairly common ones with only a few exceptions that were new to my wife and I. Overall, it's a fun way to play cards and learn some common French expressions at the same time.

The two Joker cards have a pronunciation guide, which is a creative way to add that in. I also really like the tin, which protects the deck while adding style. This is definitely gift-worthy for card game loving language learners!

These playing cards are so much fun! What a brilliant way to introduce a language or practice one. My kiddo is learning French at school, and these helped her practice her language skills. The quality is great, and they come in a super adorable tin which protects the cards and makes traveling with them a breeze. I plan on looking for other languages in these playing cards and use before and whilst traveling to foreign countries.

This is a deck of playing cards with an added twist... learning French lingo! It's a great idea and a good way to brush up on your long-forgotten language skills or before a trip! I think these would work particularly well on a cruise ship while on the way to your next French-speaking destination! Unfortunately, my tin came dented. Also, I found it particularly hard to open the deck box without ripping the top. I hate it when the box that holds the deck rips. It should be a bit stronger and easier to open. Other than that, very cute and practical!
