Good Solder
I was a little short on confidence my first time using this body solder on my motorcycle, but after I got the nerve, it was pretty easy to use. The rods are a comfortable size to use and make the repair strong. After thoroughly cleaning the repair area, you must use tinning butter, which is a flux containing metal powder that you apply with a brush (I used an acid brush). Heat the area until the metal in the butter melts, then quickly wipe the area with a paper towel or other clean rag. This leaves a clean "tinned" surface for the solder to adhere to. Apply heat from a small torch to the stick of solder and the damaged area and apply when the solder soft enough to work with but not too runny. Then smooth it out with a piece of hardwood (most use a maple paddle but I used a piece of poplar that I had laying around). Finally, file to shape, then fill any small imperfections with body filler or body glaze, prime and paint.
