Fire TV Stick 4K bundle with Echo Dot (3rd Gen - Charcoal)

Overall it’s good. Just got it not too long ago and had it hook up to our new smart TV just yesterday.Kind of hard to tell at the moment how much I will like it since we just had it set up yesterday. But so far so good. Some quick overview of what I like and don’t like so far just from yesterday’s experience.Pros-connects fine with my eufy camera-connects fine with my Echo-connects fine with smart tv + soundbar -like that it can control power button -like that it can control volumeCon-took forever, like literally forever, to troubleshoot why I couldn’t link my Eufy camera to my fire tv stick and Echo. (2+ hrs, YouTube and researching on the net helped partial ways, but couldn’t get me through it all the way. I downloaded this one app that I don’t even think I really needed 😂😂😂 because originally I thought I needed it to help my connections going. once I figure out why it wasn’t working, I realize the app can render useless unless I lose the remote control to my smart tv... 🤔 so it’s not so useless)-not sure if it’s the eufy camera or 4K stick, but images from eufy camera is very blurry. I understand that the camera isn’t 4K, but it is 2k, so I would expect some blurriness just not a lot (FYI, smart tv is 4K. From just watching stuff on my smart tv, quality is good, that’s why I’m ruling out the TV. Gonna check quality of 4k fire tv stick some time today or tomorrow... probably will not update this review unless it gets worse or quality of fire tv is great like the smart tv)

I ended up returning the Fire TV stick because it just didn't want to "play nice" with our Vizio smart TV, or even with Alexa (for that matter). I tried MULTIPLE times to get this all set up and functioning well, and did a lot of online searching to find help or how-to videos, but it just wouldn't work properly. What we ended up with was clumsy to use, convoluted to access (via voice activation), and just not worth it, so we returned the Fire TV stick and haven't regretted that not once. We're definitely disappointed with this technology, and VERY disappointed with how ridiculously long it took for Amazon to actually fulfill our order for the stick; it was about 4 weeks before the stick finally arrived!

I have to reboot the 4K stick all the time the regular fire stick I never have this problem with. I have both variations and I wish I would have never gotten the 4K as it's really not any better than the regular stick anyways. In fact it more of a pain than the regular stick. Too bad I cant trade it in at no cost to get a regular one. My regular stick works great with no resets, EVER.

I wish there was a "lock" on these Alexa-enabled devices so that when things are running just right, no changes can be made unbeknownst to the consumer. After almost two months of use, I've had to reset these devices several times and get technical support more than a few times, often just to regain the functionality that had been achieved already. But, when they are operating correctly, they do a good job each of their intended uses.

We've never set up the dot to be paired with our TV and yet one day it just happened. It makes random weird noises, turns on the TV when you tell it to play a radio station and music comes out of both with a slight delay between the two...Basically it's a hockey puck sitting unplugged on a shelf.Not sure if it's possessed or what but we've had it almost a year and only used it for about 4 months before it started acting strange.

We dropped Spectrum TV and signed up for "You Tube TV." The Fire TV Stick provides a reasonable interface to a variety of streaming service including 'You Tube TV". My 10 year old LCD HD TV had only one HDMI port and it works great with the Fire TV Stick. We now use only streaming services over wifi for TV. It's been great.

The fire stick is nice when it it works, but it randomly stops the sound output. The only way its seems to be fixed is by a factory reset (it then takes and eternity to get it back up working) and praying that it works.My TV is not the newest (10 years old) but other devices like Game consoles (Nintendo Switch) or Apple TV have no issues playing sound on my TV through the HDMI connector, but the Fire Stick has.Its of course very disappointing especially considering its an Amazon product.Great product if you are bored and want something that keeps you busy (trying to make it work). If you want something that simply works, get and Apple TV, more expensive, but much more reliable.

I got both the Eco dot and the Fire Stick as a bundle for a great price! Both work great and haven't had any problems whatsoever. Totally recommended items by amazon.
