Joico Moisture Recovery Treatment Balm for Thick/Coarse Hair, 8.5 Fl Oz

Revw from wife Jinese:This is an amazing moisturizer for your COARSE hair!!! 1st my mom is white so in no way am I trying to "use race" or whatever "some individuals " do .2nd I believe "some" African/ethnic hair products work amazing in non ethnic hair. This 'Might' not be one of them.I 1st saw this product on YouTube, beautiful black woman amazing long relaxed hair ect..... She mentioned how thick the product is and how long it took to rinse out.Moving onto Amazon reviews, I noticed most of the negative reviews were from Non ethnic hair types. Which reminds me , Ladies get to know your hair type, pattern, and texture. If u are unsure if u have thick 'coarse' hair (Hair that is so thick u can thread a needle with it), there are a few websites that offer free hair type tests. Just google what ur looking for. In the meantime , I don't feel this product shld be getting 1star and Negative reviews for people that don't know their hair type, and choose to use a product not meant for their hair.Circling back now. Being a lil nervous abt the thick waxy, doesn't rinse out feeling some have described.There was a review on here that gave me an idea. .This reviewer only added it to her ends.So I 1st, conditioned my hair with 'Mane choice' heavenly halo herbal hair tonic & soy milk hydration conditioner. Rinsed & then tried using Joico on my ENDS ONLY. Turned out fabulous!!I also tried using Giovanni conditioner thru/out my head, rinsed. Then i mixed Joico and Mane choice HH and used on my ENDS ONLY.Another time, I mixed The Joico and Giovanni smooth as silk conditioner together, used thru/out entire head. Again with wonderful results.Finally I tried using the Joico full strength thru/out my entire head.I didn't find it difficult to rinse out, but I also don't use a thick coating of this conditioner either.I did feel the other methods worked better in my hair. It was still soft and moisturized. But sometimes u can over moisturize. I feel like this much moisture is best left for my ends.A VERY SMALL AMOUNT goes a long way! So squeeze a quarter or nickel size dolp and really rub it in ur hands 1st. Then kinda scrunch it thru ur ends and slowly work ur way up.And for Non Ethnic hair wanting to try this and u KNOW ur hair is Coarse and thick. Definitely try mixing w/ a 2nd conditioner of ur choice. Or condition ur ends ONLY. Try out some of the above methods.I ALWAYS final rinse w/ Distilled water an Vitamin C powder.So I mix 1 gal of distilled water w/ ½ tsp pure vitamin C powder .I then add it to my pressure sprayer. Done.This final rinse has made all the difference in the world in my hair.Which is mixed 3C w/4c crown, Thick and coarse. Currently relaxed/texlaxed w/ Affirm moisture relaxer .

I have been using this product for years. It continues to be one of the only deep conditioners that leaves my crazy hair truly moisturized.I have Caucasian wavy, thick hair that gets very tangled. After one day of having my hair down, I have mats in the bottom sections. This conditioner is great for starting the detangling process!The only possible negative thing I have noticed is that it is very heavy if you use it too close to your roots or too often. My current routine with this product is to wash my hair twice a week and use this product only on the ends. I flip my head over and work it into the bottom 1/3 of my hair. Then, I take an everyday conditioner (usually whatever smells good at the drugstore) and apply it to the middle 1/3 of my hair, working it down. This assures that my ends are getting a great deal of moisture while the rest of my hair isn't too weighed down.I highly recommend this product for thick, dry hair!

If you have dry, thirsty, dusty black coarse hair get this product for you, your mama, your daddy , baby and sister. I have followed YouTubers , taken advice , and gave up but I have always been interested in the Joico line but my cheap self did not want to spend on a product I just didn't know would be effective in my hair journey. So of course I find the cheapest thing that I could just try and it was this recovery treatment. My Lord it was the best decision I have ever made. I will add pictures when I use this mask again. I was so stunned I did not even take my camera in. I put it in and sat under my bonnet dryer for 18 minutes cause I was going for 30 but my hair was so buttery soft by then I didn't need it.

This product is saving my hair.... I was using OBX for a few months and it left my hair very very VERY dry and damaged. I got this balm to help me recovery my hair moister, and I have to say this stuff is amazing. After one use my hair already felt 100x better. I got the shampoo and conditioner to go with this and i'm on a path to fixing my damaged hair. I have thick curly hair.

This a a balm, used like a leave in conditioner. Only takes about a dime's worth for my shoulder length thick hair. It definitely tames the frizzies if you use it before blowing dry, and you can just barely put some on tips of fingers to tame frizzies after your hair is dry. It is a good value, lasts a long time. The only thing I don't like is the texture of my hair, if I use even a tiny bit too much, makes me feel like I need to wash it sooner than I would like. But once you find just the right amount to use, texture is nice and soft, not oily. Doesn't seem to add shine, but I don't use it for that, I use it because I have broken pieces of hair in certain areas that need taming.

great product if you're looking to repair damaged hair. I've changed my hair color so many times, so I go through a generous amount of bleaching. my hair was coarse and dry but after using this product, my hair feels so luxurious. I'm glad I gave this thing a try before cutting my hair. now that I've recovered my hair health, I just use it on my ends. great buy!

I have very thick, 4b/c hair and I recently went natural again and this conditioner has been so awesome! It worked very well when I had a relaxer as well. It smells great and doesn't leave a waxy or oily film on your hair when you rinse it out. It leaves my hair very soft. I have used it both as a regular conditioner and post protein conditioner- awesome for both. I will keep this as my go to conditioner especially when I want to blow dry and flat iron my hair. Highly recommended. Just wish it didn't cost so much.

Ive been using this conditioner for use at the recommendation of a very good hair stylist. I have not been able to find anything that can touch it. I have fine hair that I have foiled blonde every 9 weeks. This conditioner makes my hair soft and silky without being too heavy.
