MLLSPLG Sinking Fish Food Pellets for Ponds, Water Gardens, and Fountains, for Live Goldfish and Koi, 5.75 Pounds

My goldfish and especially Koi have grown considerably within a month of switching to this food! They love it and get into a feeding frenzy and finish all of it before it sinks to the bottom. It is the size of black pepper seeds which is perfect for my fish. It sinks fairly slowly. In fact, a few pellets always float till they get fully wet. Overall excellent product.

This food has been valuable in feeding one of our koi that has trouble getting to the surface to eat. I have had no problem with it sinking to the bottom when I soak it in a jar of water for five minutes before feeding. My other koi enjoy it also, once they have finished their floating food and after the compromised koi has had his fill. No problems with it clouding my pond's water, either.

I bought this for our pond that has Koi and goldfish. No issues with the food or the bag itself, but it is expensive for the amount of food that you get. Our fish do like it. It arrived quickly and in good condition. Only gave it four stars because of the price. It’s a lot of money for not too much food.

It sinks while triggering a feeding frenzy. If you want to watch them eat, I recommend feeding your fish half a teaspoon or a teaspoon (pinch) at a time; otherwise, most of it will sink to the bottom.

It was tough to find good high quality sinking food for those koi and hi-fin sharks in my pond that won't come to the surface. Most koi food seems to be the floating type. I actually mix this in with some floating food and get a 50/50 mix. That way the bottom loving fish can still get their fill too. Now my pond is a swimming pool for fish so I don't have rocks or plants in the bottom. This mean sinking food does get all eaten. Another positive point is this food did not cloud the water at all - of course it never lasted that long anyway since the fish really liked the flavor. You might want to keep that in mind if you get this food since if you have rocks or plants sinking food might not be best. Still, I like the ingredients and high quality of this food and will be ordering more.

Fish seem to really enjoy it. No problems so far. Even the one fish that I barely see eat from the top my fancy goldfish seems to really enjoy it. I'm seeing more energy from her and it may be placebo but I believe her color is coming back. I purchased the 14oz bag to try out and I will be ordering the 3lb again shortly. Definitely worth the price in my opinion.

If you've never seen Koi regurgitation try this stuff. They try it, swim around a bit then spit it out, try some more and repeat. Has an odd odor compared to other high protein foods I've purchased over the past 25+ years. Sometimes the fish can be a little Leary to try something different but they will check it out and if they like it you'll know it. This stuff is going in the trash. There is some risk purchasing this product, tried to return a unopened bag and it turns out the sellers policy is to deny returns not related to damaged packaging. Two stars because it does sink as advertised.
