Not bad, not bad!
Really cool and accurate tester. Talks and lights up according to stones. Very accurate. Moissanite and Diamonds can get similar readings though. Identifies sapphire and let's you know if you hit metal.

Not reliable & poorly made
I really wanted to love this product. I work with moissanite, natural and lab-grown diamonds. A tool that can differentiate between moissanite and diamonds is essential. My first order, the casing was split at the top seam. I reported the damaged and sent it back for a replacement. That was a very simple process. I received the replacement in a couple of days. Within the first 15 minutes of use the name plate fell off, the plate/slide to hold the batteries in didn't close very well. Once it popped off and almost hit me in my face. Two other times it came off when I was taking the tester out of the case. Even worse INCORRECT results. I tested natural diamond (1ct wedding ring) against lab-created diamond (loose stone) and the natural diamond tested as moissanite and the lab-grown diamond tested as a diamond. I tested moissanite it tested as moissanite. I tested 20 lab-grown diamonds and 17 of the 20 tested as moissanite. It was comfortable in the hand but the quality and reliability for the price is very poor.

Exactly What I Need for a Reasonable Price
I like that this device โtalksโ and can test diamonds, moissanites, and rubies/sapphires with a convincing level of confidence. The cheaper units without the ability to test moissanites can be fooled into classify them as diamonds. Iโd but it again!

Above the Best
The Diamond tester worked flawlessly. I found it to be very reliable and have checked all types of jewelry with it, only one time did it come up Moissanite. This was probably due to the diamond having oil on it. Make sure the diamond and tip of tester are both clean. The tip of the tester is also spring loaded, making it more durable and less likely to bend form pressing the tip on the diamond hard. Very comfortable fit in my hand. Comes with rechargeable batteries which were dead upon arrival and a base for recharging the batteries. I put in 3 AAA regular batteries with the first tests and worked fine, then I put in the rechargeable batteries, charged them up in the base station and it worked fine also. The tester voice is clear, precise and understandable. You have both voice and visual recognition with the tester. One of 4 lights will also come on with the test. Green for Diamond, Blue for Moissanite, Pink for Sapphire and Red for Metal contact. It comes pre-program with english but has other languages that can be programed in. Made this purchase from amazon and shipping took about 3 days.

Item inaccurate! Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
When i first got it out the box i seen it and i liked it ,i tested a diamond, and the pink light lit up that means that its not a diamond and its a sapphire.on accident the diamond tested touched pink light lit up saying that its a sapphire...the item was inaccurate didn't work:/

Won't differentiate between genuine and lab. Only genuine and moiisanite
This item has been extremely accurate. I'm very happy with it. but if you're looking for something that can determine lab created this isn't it. those are far more expensive and I've heard not nearly 100% accurate.

This test does not work as stated
This item is claimed to discriminate moissanite, I sent it back to the factory and they re-affirmed me that I could trust it, I spent $40,000 on diamonds trusting this only to have a gemologist tell me they were moissanite after purchase, somebodies ass should be fired.
