These are among the best possible value for the sheer quality and quantity you can get. The leads it comes with are excellent, soft and smooth with no grittiness or inconsistency of hardness. The mechanical pencils are controlled lead release, one click gives about 4mm of lead length, the rear end of the pencils comes off and has a lead pointer in them (hole in the back of the depressor is the pointer). Having 4 pencils mean being able to have multiple sharpened points of various lead hardness. The quality of the construction of the pencils themselves is fantastic, the controlled extension of leads is fantastic and the weight and feel of them is smooth overall, the knurled grips work wonderfully for having a secure feel in the hand. Each part fits together tightly and nothing comes loose. I recommend these to anyone who uses pencils often for any kind of writing or drawing. Best value for pencils that I have found. Will be definitely be buying them again.

I feel so professional now that I have these pencils. They are built so incredibly well. The weight is just right for my hands and the leads are plentiful in this set. i wish there was a broader range of leads, or that one of the darkest leads was replaced with a lighter lead for lighter sketching. Another alternative would be to include the same leads but with different point sizes. Besides that, these are a dream to use and erase easily. The leads work great on nearly any surface I use them on and retract with no issues whatsoever.

I’m an artist. I have used mechanical pencils for over 30 years. These do a fine job. They seem sturdy enough and they look just like nice pens. They give you plenty of leads. 4 cases altogether. 1 HB and 3 2B. Why they did it like that I have no idea. Lead is already loaded in the holders. There is a sharpener in top of the pencil. There is a hole on the top that is where the sharpener is. I take off a point because I prefer the sharpener I already have. The problem is the pencil doesn’t fit. The holder is too thick. This is the first lead holder I have bought that doesn’t fit. I prefer my sharpener to the one in the pencil. You also have to remember to dump the lead shavings or they may end up in your case. The case is really nice. 4 lead holders, 4 cases of leads and a case to hold everything. Great deal. My only beef is the sharpener.

Lovely pens, feel very good in the hand, appear to be quite durable. The case is very nice, and I may use for other things than to store these pens and leads, as it's a great size for popping into my purse. I was surprised to see that there are three 2B boxes of leads and one HB, not two of each, but looking back on the listing I see that was clear and I just didn't notice it. No problem because I expect to go a while before needing further replacement leads.

They seem to be selling these more for the artists out there but thick lead and an all metal body makes it great for the wood shop. The lead really is quite durable as it's pretty thick stuff. It's easy to keep a sharp edge too - just need to rotate as needed. Can be sharpened with a utility knife too. 100% better than a traditional carpenters pencil. where you sharpen it until you find the led falls out because it cracked!

I don't like having to stop to sharpen pencils when I'm doing layouts, and I always use a mechanical pencil when marking trim. I wanted something like a traditional mechanical pencil with beefier lead for framing, and this is exactly the thing I wanted. I'd earlier bought one with 5mm lead, but that was too big - went dull way too fast. I've been using these for about a week now and I won't go back to regular carpenter pencils for framing. They're durable, easy to use, and just all-around fantastic.

Truly one of my top favorite products ive ever bought on Amazon. They are stylish and great quality with thick leads that are great for my kids to do school work with, since they snap regular mechanical pencil leads so quickly. They come in a cute hard case that fits so nicely in a purse or messenger bag. I also got about 5 plastic cases of refills with quite a few leads in them. I will most likely be purchasing these again.

This is a very nice pen set. The pouch they can be kept in is very nice. Speaking of sheer........this pen even with its very broad pencil lead is exactly what I would consider VERY "sheer." Not dark at all. Although they DO have a broad point on the pencil lead, it still does not provide a very dark pencil mark. I like a very DARK mark from a very broad point & this one, to me, is very disappointing in that regard. I don't use them because they don't give me the easy-to-see, dark, broad pencil lettering I need. I assume they would be durable since they are metal, but I have not really tested their durability. I have purchased other mechanical pencils from the drug store school supply section that give me what I need in this type of pencil. The drug store pencils were moderately priced & were not nearly as expensive as these pencils. In short, I will just continue to get my broad-leaded mechanical pencils from the drug store or an office supply store when I have used up the leads in this set.
