Interesting
While this book is interesting and informative, I didn't realize it was a children's version. I thought it was an update of the original book.

Disappointing
I did not realize this was a children's book. This should be clear in the description. I loved the original. I expected a new version of the original. This was a waste of money.

Terrific!
Great book for high school teaching! I learned valuable information for my courses. I wish the maps were to scale but that’s not a big deal. Love this book!!

I gave this wonderful book to everyone on my Christmas list this year. Old and young, it's a wonderful book.

Wrong Maps
Most of the maps and drawings are wrong. Mountains, seas, borders are not where they actually are, they are off by a significant degree.

Incredible book - but the maps are not good enough!
This book is brilliant. I read the original version and bought this for my children. If you read this book and the Silk Roads you would gain a wonderful insight into the world. The text is fantastic and content very informative but my one complaint (and it's a major, especially given the title) is that the maps are just not good enough. They are vague, not detailed enough, not accurate enough (the line to the US airforce bases points, I think, to Staffordshire, and the 'hand written' type script is hard to read. Given that lots of names are unfamiliar to children I think it should be much more accurate. Nonetheless a great book despite this glaring fault.

My 11 year old nephew is devouring it
This is exactly the book I wish I had when I was a kid. Excellent geographical knowledge but the addition of how those countries interact, which was missing from all the books when I was small. Gave it to my Nephew for his 11th Birthday and he is reading and discussing the issues raised. Exactly what I had hoped.

An atlas with a difference.
I have read Tim Marshall’s excellent book ‘Prisoners of Geography’ and thought that this atlas might be useful to my grandsons. However, used in conjunction with the book, I have found it a very useful aid to visualising the geography of the countries written about. The jolly, ‘child friendly’ format is most attractive and my grandsons have enjoyed dipping into it. I may well buy them a copy of their own. The simplification of the information in the book is very well done and can be appreciated by adults and older children alike. An atlas with a difference that offers help in understanding our complex world.

Good book
I hadn’t realised this was a book for children... my mistake. However it is very good nonetheless and made a good present for a 10 year old.
