Perfect delivery. Perfectly wrapped
Lovely item. Just a little small but ok. The wildlife water feature.

Fantastic to watch, birds are queuing up
So very cute. All the plants were in good condition, came with a pot, but I advise buying pebbles and a liner before setup to avoid muddy water :) I also added a fountain with water filter. I watched birds upon birds enjoying their impromptu pond all day. On a such a hot day, it was amazing to see them loving it.

Buy hessian liner and pond gravel before planting up.
I received the package in good order. The box wasn't quite big enough & the 'barrel' stretched it a little bit eith lots of sellotape to close the box as the flaps could not meet together. I don't think my barrel was damaged or leaking, but it was raining when I set it up so no tell-tale leakage visible at the time. Seller could do with packing in a sturdier, better fitting box to avoid the splits other customers reported. Couriers are not necessarily known for careful handling in their time-pressured job. Having read others reviews before buying I bought hessian basket liners and pond gravel to top off. I was pleased to find more than enough pond soil was included in my purchase. The plants were packed inside the basket which protected them. 3 of the plants arrived in moist soil in tied plastic bags and looked very healthy. The water lily had bare roots contained in a bag with water in. The leaves were discoloured, and perhaps not so healthy looking. I guess they had been submerged in water which may have caused it. The roots seemed ok and I hope it will recover now planted. Although each plant has its own label it would be useful for less experienced gardeners to have some guidelines on how to plant up to avoid the negative feedback I've read. Many people buy in a hurry and don't have time to read reviews but just look at the overall rating score so a simple planting guideline would help them. Overall I am pleased with my purchase and time will tell on success. I'll post again on that in a few months. The price seems a bit expensive although I've not done a comparison on buying items separately. I guess part of the price is convenience of everything arriving together. I would say hessian and gravel are must-have's and should be included in the package. Perhaps an option of buying one with and without would be good as some people already have these items, and the inexperienced don't get caught out when soil leaks out into the water. I noticed in the reviews many people have added a fountain. I read the water lily info card which said they don't like water movement so maybe this is why many of the lillies have died, although one reviewer said they set theirs to a bubbling effect and the lily seemed happy. I have another pation pond and bought some pond plant nutrient and water treatment balls which have worked well to keep plants fed and water clear, reducing sludge too. I put some of these into this pond and will invest in some oxygenator plants too to give my pond every chance of success. A downside of having still water in mosquitos but I bought some anti-mosquito bits that fliat on top, until the magpies find them. I don't think they are harmful to wildlife. Just checked my pond now it's settled in and it's doing well. The pond lily is doing well despite my concerns and I'm looking forward to it flowering in due course.

Easy to set the barrel up the plants were not
It's a lovely little garden feature, but the plants were not as easy to deal with as it lead me to believe. The basket was massive and took up all the room. I finally solved the problem by putting each plant in their own pot, put a few pebbles on top to stop the soil floating everywhere. Finished it off with a solar fountain that stays in place with 4 straws that came with it. Each plant has enough room to grow without getting tangled in the fountain. Added some elodea to help keep the water clear. Put some old garden odds and ends around it to cover the large flagstone it's sat on. It will do for now till my I have the energy to sort my odds and ends out properly. All in all very happy with it, it's a waiting game now to see how the plants go. Additional feedback, plants still going ok, the lilly is bit sorry for its self but others are ok.Added 6 little White Clouds on thursday and they are still here today. Got a little pump and filter even though I was told I won't need one.so it's all good apart from the reduction in price of the kit. But hey ho.

Didn't really work
Nice bucket, but the plants in their soil in a basket didn't really work (it floated and the compost like material just made the water muddy). So we now just use the bucket as part of a water feature.

This is lovely!
I read all reviews carefully and bought hessian, solar fountain and light coloured pond gravel. Arrived beautifully packaged, but still no suggestions of how to assemble. I know lily's like still water so put one plant in each corner of the basket. Put gravel on bottom of barrel and on top of basket. In time plants will be too big but that will take time. They are all healthy and s good size. Took about an hour to assemble and even with cloud the fountain is working on and off. Absolutely love it. Wish they did one bigger to house one fish. But delighted with it as a garden pond is beyond my budget.

Great value
I needed somewhere for the frogs that visit my yard, even though there is no water near where I live I often have frogs in my yard. I was very impressed with the size and quality of the plants that come with the kit, 4 in total, all with good growth. It is a decent size for a patio or yard. I’m happy that the barrel isn’t wood as it makes it more sturdy and leak proof! It was supplied with more compost than I needed, I didn’t have any hessian but would recommend using it and the pebbles on top as it will save the soil from leaking into the water as much. Because of this it took a good 48 hours to settle an clear. It’s great value for the plants alone, it took less than an hour to set up. Just waiting for the local frogs to come and take a dip, and hopefully help with the slugs!! Just added a photo, we’ve had a couple of frogs in the pond since setting it up.

Nice little pot but beware non-native possible invasive plant species supplied
This makes a nice little patio feature. Yes, it's plastic but attractive. The plants arrived in good condition, with the pot and aquatic compost. You'll want to add gravel to the top to stop the earth floating away, and you will almost certainly need to put something in the base of the pot to sit the aquatic planter basket on as well, unless you don't fill up the pond too far, as otherwise the plants will likely be too deep. Also worth adding some additional stones/planks etc. to assist any wildlife which might fall in. The only thing I was a bit irritated about for UK pond use is that one of the plants sent (Sagittaria platyphylla) is not a UK-native and has an amber 3-star "moderate risk" at present (according to Plant Life UK). At least it should remain contained in my garden and I'll be careful not to let it spread, but it's a bit naughty supplying plants for outdoors in ponds which should predominantly contain native species. On the flip side, though, it is supposed to be good for pollinators so perhaps on balance it will be OK.
