BONES IN THE NILE SHOULD HAVE BARED THE BONES OF ALL THE PARTICIPANTS
THE BOOK WAS INFORMATIVE AND THE AUTHOR TOOK GREAT PAINS TO REVEAL THE WARTS OF THE ENGLISH MEN INVOLVED IN THIS MESS. HE, HOWEVER, DID NOT DO THE SAME FOR THE "MESSIANIC" MUSLIM.

Facinating!
This book, a product of meticulous research about a little known phenomenon, is absolutely fascinating. The author makes the settings come alive (obviously he visited them) and the main characters speak in voices that seem authentic for the time. If there is one thing that makes it a tough read, it is that the cast is a large one - I was a bit lost for the first part until I learned the dozen or so main characters, some of considerable historical interest. This episode in British colonial history has been mostly ignored, and in fact informs some of present day North African history. A great read!
