DEVMO 60-LED Adjustable Ring Light Illuminator Lamp for Stereo Zoom Microscope

Received my ring light today and applied it to my microscope. Super easy to apply! The brightness was great, and the dimmer switch was very convenient. Cord length was enough for my applications. Good quality construction. I plan to use this with my small camera as well. And to think I was going to try and build this. EXCELLENT VALUE for the price.

I actually used this as a light for my drill press. Worked out very well. Just takes a little work on the set screw ends to get to stay tight on the quill.

I i.stalled this around the spindle on my upright hobby mill. It is a great plug amd play solution to providing great illumination of the work /tool area.

I bought this to fit on my shopsmith. I know it's not meant for this but it's hard to find a light that works well while drilling with the shopsmith. Installation was very easy and all the cables fit perfectly. The switches and dial seem to work well. The only complaints I have are I wish the mounting hardware was stronger. The screws are very small which is fine but the brass nuts that hold the screws in place are very loose. There is a lot of play in the screws so don't turn them too tight or you will strip them. The led lights aren't as bright as I expected, but it's not that big of a deal. Overall this light is a good little light that does a decent job and stays out of my way while I'm working.

I easily installed this on my microscope. I am using it to make watch parts. It readily installs on round nose microscopes and the screws have good friction to they stay set. It provides ample illumination to view the work.

Great, exactly what I needed!

The price is right and the adjustable brightness control is smooth and easy to use. I use this with a Celestron digital microscope, and it easy and quick to install. My only complaint is that there appears to be a blue-ish hue when viewing shiny objects such as nickel or chrome. Having said this, I am uncertain of the actual cause as it could be an issue with my electronic Celestron.

Despite its 12v at merely 1A of power draw, these microscopy panels are bright for covering 5" to 6" of rounded illumination. This makes capturing macro level photography easier but not without a couple caveats to factor in. These lamps rely on dome shaped diodes which create a noticeable level of glare. Since it lacks diffusers, illumination can feel rather hard when it comes to reflectivity level. Brightness adjustment jog dial also relies on a basic inline variable resistor which fluctuates voltage between 12v and 9v to reduce power flow into the diodes. While it means having intricate level of control over illumination while doing microscopy the panels are somewhat cumbersome to balance evenly. Included power supplies are lightweight since they outputs mere 1A of current at 12V but causes panels to heat up reaching 60C on outer casing at full power. Another drawback was its lack of electrical markings and the pre-wired DC connectors have some wobble around power supply side. Despite its shortcomings, when it comes to macro photography these lamps use standard 3 way mountable screws fitting universally on microscopes and brightly emit a rounded glow.

I have to admit that I'm not 100% certain of how to use these lights; I just thought they'd be interesting to try them. I don't consider them lights because they help using microscope in science. So, I decided to do some more research on this item. I have to say that this item(s) is even more perfect than I expected. It's going to so useful for students & for science teachers. The only reason I only gave it four stars because it doesn't specifically say what school-age that this would be used for; I just know it will help out both students & teachers, & there is one last comment I want to make & that is the light display is phenomenal......best feature of all! I know they will be well loved. And it is great quality & attention to detail.

I ordered this light however the controller box is not the same as pictured. Also, the dimmer knob is not that great/accurate. Otherwise it is bright and works.
