iDesign 25500 Clean & Dirty Suction Dishwasher Indicator Sign - Black/Clear

I am so happy with my purchase! This has solved all my dishes problems! The product suctions to my dishwasher, just as described. Better than a magnet! Stays right where it should. It is attached to a spinner to easily move from dirty to clean. My dishwasher is white, and it looks nice. However, I have seen it on stainless steel and I think that is where it looks the best! As others mentioned, I wouldn't get it for a black dishwasher because the "dirty" side would be hard to see. I also love the price. I plan on getting this as a gift for all my friends and family.

I like this product, I bought one and a friend liked it so I gifted it to them. They are cheap enough, so I got another. Some people with or without dishwashers might think why would I need something like that for? If you don't have a non-human powered dishwasher (other than your kids), then you probably don't need one unless you are going to gift it to someone. But... for those of you who do have a dishwasher. This would be a very handy accessory for your dishwasher. Usually, before you load your dishwasher with dirty dishes, you might take the time to rinse off your dishes. And if you do them on a daily basis and they don't get disgusting and crusty with dryed on food because they have been sitting in the sink for a week, at a quick glance they may appear clean. Well, this is where this handy little gadget comes in. Whoever loads the dishwasher with dirty dishes spins the indicator so that "Dirty" is up. Or if you load the dishwasher and run it, then you can spin the indicator to read "clean". It takes the guess work out of deciding weather or not you have a dishwasher full of clean or dirty dishes. If you are like me and actually unload the dishwasher after the cleaning cycle, I usually spin it back to dirty, because as I use dishes, pots and pans, and utensils during the day, I take the time to rinse them and put them in the dishwasher as opposed to filling the sink and counter space with pots, pans and dishes. I felt like doing this little narrative as opposed to doing a one liner that simply states "Works Great". By the way the indicator sticks to the washer door via a suction cup on the back. Just a little water or spit and it sticks to the door for months. Occasionaly it falls to the floor. I just re-wet the suction cup and it sticks back on. I would recomment this product to anyone owning a dishwasher.

This design is minimal while also pleasing to the eye, I enjoy the "yin yang" styling and quick ability to rotate the wheel without removing or scraping the unit across the surface of our dishwasher. There are only two flaws I could find after about a month of use, the suction cup is strong, but the back section sticks to the wheel at times and portions of the black coloration have been retained by the suction cup surface. Once I put a very light coating of silicone sealer on this there were no problems however. Additionally, the center peg which the wheel rests on is nice and tight as you install it, but does not offer enough friction as it is being used; especially when the dishwasher door is being opened and closed often. I have found that the wheel will wander on its own, getting stuck in a halfway position or spinning around entirely which can confuse guests who want to know if they can load the dishwasher at a glance (the entire point of this product.) If you can live with the tradeoffs of an easy to switch design this is a nice piece and should serve you well. At the price, I really cannot complain.

I love this little dishwasher dial. I was a little skeptical at first because what I was really looking for was something that said dirty on one side and clean on the other, like the old school "Open/Closed" signs businesses hang on their doors, and I thought this having both words on one side would create opportunity for confusion, but it is actually really awesome. I bought this almost a year-and-a-half ago and it is still holding up quite well. We have a basic, white Whirlpool dishwasher and since day-1 the suction cup has held strong, and, though it feels very flimsy and easy to turn, the dial does stay exactly where it is set. Our dishwasher does have a light that indicates when the cleaning cycle is complete, but once the door is opened the light goes out, and in our house, for some reason, people seem to think the dishes being clean means they can reach in and get what they need and leave the rest for someone else to put away. This really does take the guessing work out of doing dishes.

I bought this product because we have a stainless steel dishwasher, so a magnet would not work. Actually, the suction cup didn't work either. It fell off within 20-30 mins of sticking it on (and this happened a few times). So, we have it suctioned to the counter top above the dishwasher. Unfortunately, I could put anything on the counter top - even without a suction cup. Also, I agree with other reviewers that the clear half (not white) of the product is a poor design. It's very difficult to read or see - this half blends in with our granite countertops, and it would blend in with any silver or darker dishwasher too. Despite these flaws, I still give the product 3 stars because it does its job in reminding us all whether the dishes are clean or dirty. Now, if only one of our roommates would pay attention to it...

Like some, I misinterpreted the color to be white and black, not CLEAR and black as is actually the case. However, there are over 100 reviews that would've told me this had I taken the time to read them. If clear is a problem for you, I recommend not purchasing this particular item. I took a piece of sticky paper and adhered it to the back, now I can read perfectly over the top of my black-fronted dishwasher. As for the suction cup - It is like any other. What I like about this one is that it's big and covers a lot of surface area. However, like any suction cup, the surface it is being attached to should be non-porous and clean. Treat this like the suction cup to a no-fog mirror in your shower or a smartphone holder in your car - Moisten the back with a sponge, rub a bit of dish soap around the inside of the cup, press firmly, then walk away for a while. Even if you attach the suction to the more gristly top part of your washer (where the buttons/nob is positioned, I guarantee it will be nearly impossible to come off. Great product and a great style. If you were thinking about buying it, do it. You won't be sorry.

I never really expected such a simple device to fail so poorly at its only purpose, but this dishwasher indicator managed to pull it off. I only purchased this over some of the cheaper magnets because a magnet will not stick to the surface of our dishwasher; if a magnet will work on yours, I strongly recommend buying one of those instead. They're much cheaper, more stylish, and more reliable. Where does this one go wrong? First, the package is impossible to open. I managed to make a small cosmetic crack when opening the package. Not a dealbreaker, but annoying. Most importantly, the suction cup device is unreliable. I attached this to the dishwasher exactly as the instructions in the package indicated (i.e. moistened), and the indicator fell off within a couple days. I tried this several times, and kept getting the same result. I eventually decided to forgo whatever aesthetics this indicator has and just duct-tape it to the dishwasher. My results were a little better there, but tape is not generally a great way to attach a suction cup to a device; eventually the outward force of the suction cup pushed that off as well. It only lasts maybe a week at a time. Because of the nature of this device, it's only useful if you know which side of the circle was facing up. If it's fallen off, it's useless. I would give this zero stars if I could.

I was so stoked to receive this item because of how perfectly the white & black - clean & dirty -indicators would contrast with my black dishwasher. This was a product I had been looking everywhere for, and from how it looked in the picture I was sure my long search had ended in success. I was incredibly happy! But imagine my immense disappointment when it arrived at my door & i tore open the box only to find out that there was NO WHITE ON IT AT ALL! What appears as the white portions (as shown in their picture) is actually CLEAR, SEE-THROUGH PLASTIC. And when adhered to a black dishwasher it is completely useless! All you can see is BLACK. Even the white "DIRTY" lettering is CLEAR, NOT WHITE. There is not a speck of white coloring on this thing. Anywhere. I wanted to give this item 1 Star because the picture was completely misleading, but I gave it 2 Stars only because the suction cup on the back worked well ;) So, if you plan on buying this to stick to your BLACK dishwasher... STOP! Take your hands away from the keyboard & really think long and hard about whether you want to buy this and THEN ALSO BUY a brand new WHITE DISHWASHER that this can be useful on.

Very clever rotating sign to indicate if the built in dish washer has finished cleaning. Does not like painted surfaces, but after weeks of use we only occasionally have to re-attach it. Very pleased.

This product works perfectly for what it was designed for. No issues with spinning action as of yet. Great for those who constantly face the struggle of knowing if the dishwasher houses clean or dirty dishes. Arrived on time and in perfect condition. Very happy with it.

Good idea but I had to send mine back as the clean/dirty sign were on the reverse side so I couldn't use it.

Really need to clean the surface before sticking this on. The suction isn't as best I'd like. This is stuck on the dishwasher and sometimes falls off when we open and close the doors. But it seems very sturdy since it never broke or chipped when it fell.

The suction cup has good sticking power and the clear indicator lets everyone know if the washer is full of clean or dirty dishes!. There was some very slight damage to the edge but not enough to warrant a return.
